It's been a roller coaster ride for the Jacksonville Jaguars Wide Receiver Justin Blackmon ever since his first year in the league.

Ever since he was drafted, only a couple months later, he was arrested in Stillwater, Oklahoma for DUI in 2012. Losing ground on his rookie contract with previous General Manager, at the time, Gene Smith, put a clause if he were to get suspended by the league for breaking the substance abuse policy, he would lose all of his guaranteed money in his rookie deal. With his rookie season ended, where he finished with 64 receptions, 865 yards, and 5 touchdowns, which was a great campaign for the Jaguars rookie Wide Receiver.

However, on April 20, 2013, Blackmon received a four-game suspension by the NFL for violating the NFL's substance abuse policy. He served the suspension, with many questions on the Jaguars organization and their fans' minds, and he showed a spark immediately with a showing against the St. Louis Rams where he had an 80 yard reception off-the-bat as his first catch back with the team and finished the game with 5 receptions, 136 yards, and one touchdown. The following week, he tore up the Denver Broncos secondary for 14 receptions and 190 yards.

However, a couple weeks later, during the Jacksonville Jaguars' Bye Week, on November 1, 2013, he received an indefinite suspension for again violating the NFL's substance abuse policy.

Ever since, questions lingered over the months passing by. Should the Jaguars just cut the man? Should they keep him? Shouldn't they at least give him the help he deserves? Alcohol is a big issue here in United States and it hurts many Jaguars fans to hear the name of Justin Blackmon when talking about the history of disappointments and busts from R. Jay Soward to Matt Jones

Even now General Manger Dave Caldwell selected two new Wide Receivers in the 2014 NFL Draft with Marqise Lee and Allen Robinson to try to help the Jaguars now.

A couple months earlier before the NFL Draft in Jacksonville on March 15, a news report said that Justin Blackmon was in a car accident on I-295, however alcohol was not an issue. However, he was arrested again this time for possession of marijuana following a traffic stop in Edmond, Oklahoma on July 23, 2014.

After the arrest was made official, Jaguars owner Shad Khan had already alliterated that he would stay with the team.

"I think it's very important for him to get the help," Khan said.

"I think that's the most important thing. ... I think it's good for him and good for us. We want him to get the help and really beat this."

With news reports coming last night that he reported into rehab is a good sign that he wants to get better.

"(He) is doing very well and he's learning a lot." Jaguars Head Coach Gus Bradley said, as he is getting updates from Blackmon's agent, Todd France.

"He's healing and taking time for himself," Bradley said.

"The great thing is he has chosen this for himself. It's awesome to hear about."

"It's a voluntary program he has chosen to do."

He is checked into a 90-day program at an undisclosed location, Bradley said, and has completed nearly half of his commitment.

Could this actually mean another weapon could be in disposal for Blake Bortles to utilize in the future? It's too early to tell. However, if Justin Blackmon does decide to reinstate into the league, it would most likely be after the 2014-2015 season. He would also be left with a one-year deal from his original rookie deal. Time will tell if the highly-praised Wide Receiver out of Oklahoma State will have a chance for redemption for the Jaguars in the future, but anything is possible in the league. It would be an unbelievable Hollywood script to write. That's what the Jaguars organization and fans are hoping for, at least.
