The Baltimore Ravens turned what looked like a pretty good three game winning streak with all of three phases of the game coming together into a loss against the Indianapolis Colts where the team lacked a spark on offense as the Ravens lost to the Colts 20-13.

The Ravens' offense produced arguably their worst performance of the season. Throughout the game, it didn't look like the Ravens had any sense of urgency on offense whether it was wide receiver Torrey Smith being unable to haul in catches at critical moments, wide receiver Steve Smith fumbling, which is unusual for him, and wide receiver Marlon Brown not trying to dive for a long pass attempt by Joe Flacco in their final drive of the game.

The Ravens turned the ball over twice on offense and the offensive line for the Ravens didn't do any favors either. Flacco was sacked four times in the game and the running game disappeared with only 15 rushing attempts for 90 yards.

Last week Ravens rookie left tackle James Hurst played pretty well in place of starting left tackle Eugene Monroe and followed up a horrible game against the Colts allowing three sacks. The offensive line didn't look like they had a plan against the Colts front seven all game. Despite the issues along the offensive line, Ravens center Jeremy Zuttah feels like the Ravens could have done a better job since the Colts on defense didn't much out of the ordinary.

“I don’t think it was anything too exotic. It was stuff that we had seen on film and we just have to do a better job executing,” Zuttah noted via Baltimoreravens.com. “We had been playing some pretty good football. We hadn’t had mental mistakes, we hadn’t turned the ball over and we hadn’t had penalties. And we had all three of those today. It’s a wake-up call that you can’t win like that.”

The Ravens certainly had a better day on defense than the stats indicate. The Ravens held the NFL's number one ranked offense in the Colts to six points at halftime and forced two interceptions on Colts quarterback Andrew Luck.

Each and every time the Colts had an opportunity to cash in for a touchdown in the red zone, the Ravens defense stood up and made the case as to why the unit is ranked number one in the NFL in red zone defense.

The good news for the Ravens is the fact that rookie inside linebacker C.J. Mosley had his best game yet with 15 tackles and an interception. Mosley certainly has a bright future.

Despite the loss, the Ravens have to feel good about their defense. Cornerback Ladarius Webb returned from his back issues and looked healthier, nose tackle Haloti Ngata recorded his second interception of the season which leads the team and safeties in Matt Elam and Terrence Brooks seemed to be getting better as time goes on even though both safeties have work to do.

However, players on the Ravens offense feel bad for their efforts.

“We hurt our defense a lot by keeping them out there on the field,” Steve Smith noted via Baltimoreravens.com. “They kept giving us opportunity after opportunity and we just kept misfiring as a whole.”

The Ravens have a 3-2 record on the season as the team will take on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in week 6.
