The Dallas Cowboys (6-1) continued their winning ways by beating the New York Giants (3-4) 31-21 and extending their winning streak to 6 games.

The Cowboys kept their gameplan the same by running the ball with DeMarco Murray while putting the ball in Tony Romo's hands to make key plays through the air. So far that recipe for success has helped the Cowboys take a half a game lead in the NFC East division over the Philadelphia Eagles who were on bye this week.

Tony Romo threw for 279 yards and three touchdown passes with 151 of those yards going to his number one receiver Dez Bryant.

Two of those touchdown passes went to second-year tight end Gavin Escobar who had the breakout game that many were waiting for once he was drafted.

Eli Manning did his best to keep the Giants in the game by throwing for 248 yards and three touchdowns of his own and at one point had the Giants up 14-7 in the second quarter.

But as has been the case this season Tony Romo was able to connect with Terrence Williams for an 18-yard touchdown pass towards the end of the first half to keep it tied at 14-14.

DeMarco Murray would score on a 1-yard touchdown run with 5:28 left to play in the 4th quarter to extend the lead to 28-14.

The Giants would respond with a 5-yard touchdown pass from Eli Manning to Odell Beckham Jr. for his second of the game to cut the lead to 28-21.

In the end DeMarco Murray put the Cowboys in position for a 49-yard field goal by Dan Bailey that sealed the win for Dallas.

While the Cowboys picked up a win DeMarco Murray was making history by becoming the first running back to reach 100 yards rushing in the first 7 regular season games in NFL history. Murray finished with 128 yards rushing on 28 carries and a touchdown and added his name to the record books alongside the like of Hall of Famers Jim Brown, Emmitt Smith and Barry Sanders.

Murray made sure to give his offensive lineman a big slice of the credit for him breaking the record. "I think we did this as a group. So it's hard for me to accept this individually, and I definitely wish those guys were here. But they're a huge part of this, [along with] the tight ends, the receivers, the entire coaching staff. But I definitely give a lot of credit to those guys, and I'm blessed to be mentioned with that, but there's a lot of hard work that needs to be done. It's a long season."

Murray will look to extend his record in week 8 against the Washington Redskins (2-5) while the New York Giants will be on bye next week before facing the Indianapolis Colts (5-2) in week 9.
