Just as soon as the Houston Texans think they have their quarterback situation settled, there is yet another problem that occurs. After their game against the Cincinnati Bengals, the Texans received news that wasn't good. Quarterback Ryan Mallett suffered a pectoral injury, and could miss several weeks depending on the severity.

After Ryan Fitzpatrick didn't live up to expectations, the Houston Texans turned to Ryan Mallett for the quarterback job. After an impressive 23-7 win against the Bengals last week, Mallett looked awfully good. On Sunday afternoon, he looked very nervous against the Bengals. His accuracy was all over the place, and it didn't help when the Bengals defense was on their game. There was no sign of Mallett suffering the injury during this game. Different reports say he could've suffered the injury against the Browns. He was listed with a "chest" injury all week, but there was no mention of a serious injury.

Ryan Mallett is set to undergo an MRI on Monday, to see if his pectoral muscle is torn. If it is torn, he will definitely miss a lot of playing time. If it is just a strain, he will still miss time, but not as much. Either way, Ryan Fitzpatrick is likely back as the starting quarterback. The Houston Texans have showed no signs as of yet to turning to their rookie quarterback, Tom Savage. With the Texans having one of the "easiest" remaining schedules, they shouldn't be in a lot of trouble.

UPDATE: Following Mallett's MRI, it has been revealed that he has a torn pectoral muscle, and will miss the remainder of the season. Ryan Fitzpatrick will return as the starting quarterback.
