In a game which saw many Chargers fans thinking that Philip Rivers was going down the same way that Peyton Manning did against a fired-up St. Louis Rams team. Fortunately for RIvers and the Chargers, they were able to escape with a 27-24 victory against the Rams.

Rivers threw 29 completions in 35 attempts for a total of 291 yards. He threw one touchdown and one interception. The interception was a forced play which saw Rivers force a throw to Keenan Allen who had been matched up with St. Louis Rams defender Janoris Jenkins, who overpowered Allen and stripped the ball out racing 99 yards the other way for a touchdown.

Despite the fumbles and interception which Rivers threw, a pass from Rams Quarterback Shaun Hill attempt a pass at the goal line which was going to Receiver Kenny Britt instead intercepted by Strong Safety Marcus Gilchrist to hold the Rams off and give the Chargers the win. When looking at what happened with Peyton Manning and the Denver Broncos at the hands of the Rams last week, and also the injuries to San Diego and the November record of Philip Rivers, it was easy to think that the Chargers may not have come out with the victory.

Now, the San Diego Chargers have to shake off the offensive performance where fans would have wanted more out of their team.  This week, they come to M&T Bank Stadium to take on the Ravens who are fighting in the AFC North to get into one of the two Wild Card spots for the postseason. The Ravens are also coming off of a win, a big one on the road against the New Orleans Saints.
