Right now the Philadelphia Eagles are a team looking for some good news and they just keep turning up bad news. Not only did they lose to the Seattle Seahawks and Dallas Cowboys in back to back weeks, but they also fell out of the lead in the NFC East, which they had been leading all season. Part of the reason for those losses is poor quarterback play by backup quarterback Mark Sanchez. To be fair, Sanchez started off well when he took over the quarterbacking duties, but the production has fallen off. Also, his wins at quarterback were against the Panthers, Titans, and Cowboys, while he lost games to the Packers, Seahawks, and Cowboys. So against quality competition he has only been 1-3. It is incredibly clear why they would not want to have him playing the stretch run starting this Saturday when they face the Washington Redskins on the road.

But that's exactly what is going to happen. Right now Nick Foles is still too injured from his collarbone injury, pictured above, where Whitney Mercilus hit him. Howard Eskin (@howardeskin) said this about Foles injury on twitter, "Sources tell me @eagles QB Nick Foles fractured collarbone only 70% healed. So obviously no way Foles plays in reg season games." With it only being 70% healed and he was hurt back on November 2, it appears he is taking a little bit longer to heal then when Aaron Rodgers was able to play in week 17 last year after having a similar collarbone injury. But that is not what the Eagles can spend their time focusing on right now. They need to focus on beating the Redskins this week, and then defending their home field next week against the New York Giants. While they are at it, they can also cheer on the Colts this Sunday as they travel to AT&T Stadium to take on those pesky Dallas Cowboys, who are now in the division lead of the NFC East.
