The Detroit Lions have some huge off-season tasks. Among them is resigning All-Pro Defensive Tackle Ndamukong Suh, who becomes an unrestricted Free Agent on March 9th.

Here are a few ways to create cap space, while addressing player personnel issues:

Reggie Bush - RB - After a great season in 2013, Reggie declined in 2014. When he wasn't injured, he looked lost. Even bringing him back at a discounted rate isn't very appealing, as Theo Riddick can fill Reggie's role while having ever better pass catching skills. Bush is due to make $5.2 million in 2015, with a dead cap number of $3.5 million.

Stephen Tulloch - LB - If the Lions hope to retain Suh, they will either have to restructure with Tulloch or cut him. Tahir Whitehead filled in nicely in Tulloch's absence, and comes at a much lower rate than Tulloch. Tulloch is scheduled to make $5.8 million in 2015, with a dead cap number of $2.6 million.

Jeremy Ross - KR/PR/WR -  Ross was absent from the return game and at times a liability. His production at WR was lukewarm. The Lions can find someone who is more of a weapon in FA or the Draft as Ross had more fair catches than anyone else in the league (37).

Jason Jones - DE - Injured through most of the 2013 season, Jones started off 2014 with a bang and then slowly disappeared. He was outperformed by George Johnson. With his high price tag look for the Lions to make a move with Jones after June 1st. Jones is due to make nearly $4 million in 2015, with a dead cap number just under $1 million.

Ryan Broyles - WR - Talk about a guy who came into the league with a ton of promise. Healed from back to back seasons of injuries, 2014 was supposed to be his coming out year. The only thing that came out was a tweet about needing more playing time. Broyles is due to make over $1.1 million this season. That isn't happening. Look for the Lions to cut Broyles.

Joseph Fauria - TE - After catching 7 TD passes in 2013 Fauria only had one touchdown in 2014. When he wasn't twerking or starting a social media wildfire, he was injured. With a logjam and much higher investments at Tight End, Fauria is the odd man out. Look for the Lions to replace him with a veteran through FA.

Most of these moves will be looked at as cost cutting measures to ensure cap space after signing Ndamukong Suh. The Lions have made it very clear that they will use the franchise tag on Suh if needed, but would much rather work on something long term with the talented Defensive Lineman.
