The Seattle Seahawks All-Pro safety, Earl Thomas, underwent shoulder surgery on Tuesday to repair a torn labrum -- a ring of fibrocartilage around the edge of the joint surface -- an injury he suffered in the NFC Championship Game against the Green Bay Packers.

Thomas, 25, was named first-team All-Pro for the third straight season after recording 97 tackles, one interception and three forced fumbles. Earl is expected to be out six to eight months.

If that is the case, Thomas would not be back until the end of August at the earliest or the end of October at the latest. That could be a huge problem for the Seahawks as he is considered by many to be the leader of the Seahawks dominant defense.

Thomas injury just adds to the long list of injuries to the "Legion of Boom". All-Pro corner back Richard Sherman injured his elbow in that same NFC Championship game and may require Tommy John surgery. Kam Chancellor injured his knee two days before the Super Bowl and it turns out he was playing with a torn MCL and a bone bruise. Jeremy Lane fractured his left wrist in the Super Bowl and will also need knee surgery.

Maybe they should be called the "Legion of Boo Boos".

The only healthy member of the LOB is Byron Maxwell and he is a free agent going into 2015 and there is no guarantee that he will be a Seahawk next year. Many figure he will cost too much money to keep on the team.

All the best to Thomas and the rest of the LOB on a quick and healthy recovery. The 12th Man needs you all back at the beginning of the 2015 NFL season.
