NFL Draft month is upon us Falcons fans as we await that promising date. April 30th-May 2nd is when the Dan Quinn era officially starts. Following a 6-10 season the Atlanta Falcons look to turn over a new chapter and start fresh. The Falcons team needs are as follows: DE, G, S, RB, WR, CB, and TE. The Falcons currently have eight picks to use in the upcoming draft. Here is how I would draft if my name was Thomas Dimitroff.

1st Round, 8th Pick: Vic Beasley DE/OLB Clemson

Falcons new head coach Dan Quinn runs a 4-3 defensive scheme with some 3-4 elements. He has a position called LEO which is a defensive end that occasionally stands and moves around on the defense. The Falcons were ranked 32nd in total pass rush which is totally not how you win football games. Drafting Vic Beasley here drastically changes the Falcons defense who will now have a toy to play with along the defensive line.

2nd Round, 42nd Pick: Eric Rowe CB/S Utah

Dan Quinn's 4-3 under scheme requires a "center fielder" at free safety. He needs a player with excellent speed and ball hawking skills, abilities the Falcons are currently lacking at the safety position. If the Falcons are trying to start a Seattle Seahawks south this is a great first step in that direction. Eric Rowe fits what the Falcons need perfectly at safety.

3rd Round, 73rd Pick: Ali Marpet G/OT Hobart

Arguably one of the best guards in this draft is Ali Marpet, who fits nicely here. With Kyle Shanahan installing his zone-blocking scheme the Falcons must find an athletic guard that has great footwork. Currently the Falcons have a lot of un-drafted free agents and underperforming players along their offensive line. Adding Marpet would give the Falcons a solid offensive line for years to come.

4th Round, 107th Pick: Justin Hardy WR ECU

It's no secret that the Falcons have a crap shoot of 30-year old wide receivers. The Falcons need a play maker who can one day overtake Roddy White's position on the outside. Justin Hardy is one of the most regarded players in this draft with his play making ability.

5th Round: Nick Marshall CB/QB/FS

Versatile players help any team they're on. Nick Marshall played quarterback in college but has decided to switch back to cornerback in hopes to improve his draft stock. Nick Marshall is a decent cornerback with play making ability. Nick Marshall will challenge sophomore CB Ricardo Allen for the nickle back position.

6th Round: Tyler Varga RB TCU

Falcons currently roster three running backs, two of which were drafted. Kyle Shanahan's zone-blocking scheme he used in Cleveland uses multiple running backs, each possessing a different skill-set. He is a Carlos Hyde/Toby Gerhart type of guy which could be very useful for the Falcons.

7th Round, 225th Pick: Blake Sims

The last time the Atlanta Falcons had a competent backup quarterback was when Michael Vick was the starting quarterback. If Matt Ryan goes down we need a QB with the next man up mentality and will take over games when he has to.

7th Round, 249th: DT Xavier Williams Northern Iowa

Competition never hurts. The Falcons defensive tackles could benefit from a bit a competition. The players who give 100 percent every play usually make the team.
