Early on Monday, the Indianapolis Colts announced that they had released four players from their roster. Most notably, Jeff Demps was among those players that were released by the team.

Running back Jeff Demps never developed enough to make an impact for the Colts. He was an Olympic medalist as a sprinter, specifically in the 4x100 relay event, which he won a silver medal during the 2012 London Olympics.

Indianapolis originally signed the 25-year old Jeff Demps to the practice squad last season. He managed to maintain his spot, eventually earning a reserve/future contract, which he signed in January. Since then, the Colts have improved at all of his potential areas of contribution, resulting in the team no longer needing him.

Jeff Demps started his NFL career with the New England Patriots, but didn't play for the team since he prioritized Olympic sprinting at the time. He then spent time with the Tampa Bay Bucanneers, before being waived. Then the Colts acquired him.

Those other three players that were released were Kadron Boone (wide receiver), Gannon Gonway (defensive end), and Matt Hall (offensive tackle). All of these players, including Jeff Demps, entered the NFL as undrafted free agents back in 2014.
