Just hours after Judge Berman's ruling to nullify Tom Brady from his four-game suspension, the NFL will begin the appeal process towards that ruling. The NFL released a statement Thursday.

"We are grateful to Judge Berman for hearing this matter, but respectfully disagree with today's decision," the statement read. "We will appeal today's ruling in order to uphold the collectively bargained responsibility to protect the integrity of the game. The commissioner's responsibility to secure the competitive fairness of our game is a paramount principle, and the league and our 32 clubs will continue to pursue a path to that end. While the legal phase of this process continues, we look forward to focusing on football and the opening of the regular season."

Tom Brady won't be suspended during the time of this appeal. He'll be able to play out until the appeal ends.

The initial ruling came this morning, as nearly all off-season these legal battles have been going on. Neither party wanted to settle, as Judge Berman was hoping would happen. Brady and his party did not want to settle or assume guilt, and the NFL didn't have any desire in reality to settle less than 4 games. To be clear, Berman did not address whether Brady was actually guilty of deflating the footballs, moreso he addressed the incompetence of the NFL regarding their investigations into the deflategate scandal and also into Brady.

It was expected that the NFL would appeal, as they continue to roll down this avalanche they've created built on fabrications.

In recent times, Roger Goodell is now 0-3 in court that revolved around player suspensions. First Ray Rice, then Adrian Peterson, and now Tom Brady. The curious situation to come out of all of this will be the public's opinion on Goodell as well s the owners. The owers more than likely will still be on Goodell's side, but he most definitely hasn't made any progess over the last year. The downward slope continues.
