It was a very quiet at CenturyLink Field in Seattle, Washington, however, the cheers broke out in the second quarter as the Seattle Seahawks got on the board. Those Seahawks went on to win 13-10 over the Detroit Lions on Monday night.

Quarterback Russell Wilson found receiver Doug Baldwin for a 24-yard touchdown to give the Seahawks (2-2) a 7-0 lead with 11 minutes to play in the second quarter. The touchdown was the 17th career touchdown for the 27-year-old wide receiver.

Baldwin was found three times, including a touchdown, for 36 yards, Tyler Lockett caught four passes for 58 yards and Jimmy Graham chipped in with 29 yards on four receptions. While all those players worked hard to get positive yards, Jermaine Kearse led them all with two receptions for 84 yards, but he never found the end zone.

The Lions (0-4) struggled all game, only gaining 256 total yards, compared to 345 for Seattle, but the Lions made it close by forcing three turnovers, all fumbles.

The fumbles were recovered by Ezekiel Ansah, TJ Jones and Caraun Reid. Two of the fumbles were lost by Wilson, while the other was dropped by Tyler Lockett. Wilson was hit 10 times by a sturdy Detroit defense, which ultimately forced the two fumbles.

Leading the substantial defense was safety James Ihedigbo with eight tackles - seven solo and one for a loss - in the loss for Detroit. As for the Seahawks, linebacker Bobby Wagner totaled eight tackles - four solo - in the win.

The Lions bounced back after the Seattle touchdown with a 41-yard field goal from Matt Prater to make it 7-3 with five minutes and 20 seconds left in the second quarter. To counter, Steven Hauschka nailed a 51-yard field goal with just a minute left in the half.

The halftime score of 10-3 in favor of the Seahawks showed the defensive force of both squads. While the Lions were forcing turnovers, the Seahawks were forcing three-and-outs.

Hauschka kicked a 52-yard field goal to start the second half, but nobody touched the scoreboard until eight minutes left in the fourth quarter.

The reason the Seahawks did not score like normal was because of the hamstring injury to  Pro Bowl running back Marshawn Lynch, also known as "Beast Mode." The 29-year-old tallied 1,306 yards last season with a career-high 13 touchdowns and just one fumble. Seattle, however, were without their stud on Monday night against Detroit.

To make up for the loss of Lynch, the Seahawks went with rookie Thomas Rawls out of Central Michigan University. The running back adapted well to the big stage with 17 carries for 48 yards.

With eight minutes and 42 seconds left in the fourth, Wilson was sacked for a loss of six yards. Meanwhile, he fumbled the ball and Reid picked it up and took it 27 yards to the house to make it just a three point deficit for Detroit.

The Lions forced Seattle to punt on the next drive. That gave them a shot to win the game with a few timeouts and the two-minute warning on their side.

Matthew Stafford, the starting quarterback for the Lions, found Tim Wright for a gain of 26 yards to put Detroit in the red zone.

After Detroit took a timeout, Stafford found superstar wide receiver Calvin Johnson, who fumbled while going into the end zone. The fumble was forced by safety Kam Chancellor, it ended the game for Detroit.

"It was big time," Seattle linebacker Wagner said of Chancellor's overall play on Monday night. "He just made us a whole defense."

Even though Johnson could not hang on at the end of the game, he logged a team high seven receptions for 56 yards. Rookie running back Ameer Abdullah carried the ball 13 times for 33 yards.

The offense has been holding the Lions back from their full potential and that idea was made evident in Monday's loss. Stafford did not throw a touchdown and the run game did not succeed. It was another poor offensive week for Detroit, which now makes them 0-4 on the season.

Stafford, the first draft pick in the 2009 NFL Draft, finished 24-for-35 with 203 yards through the air. It was the only game without a touchdown for Stafford, however, it was also his first game of the season without tossing an interceptions.

The fifth-year quarterback has 1,014 passing yards with five touchdowns and five interceptions on the season.
