Everyone remembers when a veteran player who has done incredibly well for their team, leaves to go to a divisional opponent and their return to their home stadium can not be easily forgotten. For this writer, it would be Brett Favre returning to Lambeau Field wearing a jersey of the rival Minnesota Vikings. But it's true for teams in every sport. Tonight, Andre Johnson had a performance that will not be easily forgotten by fans of the Indianapolis Colts and the Houston Texans.

Mike Adams started the game off well for Indianapolis, as he forced the first turnover of the game when Ryan Mallett would throw an interception that would result in a made 48 yard field goal by Adam Vinatieri. The Colts are strong, but with the defense that the Texans have, and with J.J. Watt providing a strong pass rush, they did not want to fall behind early in this game.

But they fell further behind. Shane Lechler had his first punt of the game and the Colts took over at their 40 yard line. They were able to go 60 yards in merely six plays, as they were aided by a facemask penalty by A.J. Bouye. Matt Hasselbeck, who wound up starting the game despite illness due to Andrew Luck's ongoing shoulder issues, was able to find the previously mentioned Johnson twice on the drive, once on a 23 yard reception to get them into the red zone, and then on a four yard touchdown reception. Vinatieri hit the PAT and the Colts had a ten point advantage.

The Colts got the ball back again and Vinatieri made a 42 yarder, that put them up 13-0, before the Texans started to make a comeback. That was partially due to the fact that Mallett was pulled from the game after a roughing the passer penalty on Sio Moore put Brian Hoyer into the game for Mallett. He was able to put together a decent drive that led to a Nick Novak field goal as the Texans were now on the board. They got the ball back again and as time was expired in the opening half Hoyer threw the Hail Mary that came down in the hands of Jaelen Strong, who made a big touchdown catch for the rookie from Arizona State.

On the first drive of the second half, the Colts quickly responded as Griff Whalen returned the kickoff to the Colts 44 yard line. A few plays later Frank Gore scored his first touchdown of the game to put the Colts up 20-10.

With 4:03 left in the third Hoyer was able to find Strong again for their second connection of the game as the Texans were trying to show some fight. But that fight would not last terribly long though.

Because the Colts were ready to burn some clock with that lead, and they used up a whopping eight minutes and 35 seconds on their ensuing drive. The biggest play though on the drive was a defensive penalty, as Eddie Pleasant of the Texans was called for defensive holding on a pass play where Rahim Moore was able to intercept Hasselbeck on a play intended for Donte Moncrief. The Texans can't just shoot themselves in the foot, as they need to create turnovers to win games. The drive ended with Johnson getting his second touchdown reception of the night, as he totaled six catches for 77 yards and two touchdowns.

The Texans tried to keep coming back as Novak would barely keep a 49 yard field goal inside the left upright to get them within a touchdown. The Texans even got the ball back again. But this time it would end on a third and two as Hoyer threw the ball up in the air and Mike Adams recorded his second interception of the night.

The Texans still had their time outs but Hasselbeck threw a gem of a pass to T.Y. Hilton for a 43 yard gain on third down and then was able to take some knees in the victory formation to get the Colts their third straight win in a row.
