Just like in game one, Winnipeg took a lead but could not hold it as the Anaheim Ducks came back to defeat the Jets 2-1. Jakob Silfverberg scored with 21 seconds left to break a 1-1 tie and give the Ducks a 2-0 lead in this best of seven series.
Despite being silent for close to 50 minutes, Anaheim rallied behind goals by Patrick Maroon before Silfverberg scored the decisive goal.
Ondrej Pavalec played an outstanding game overall, making 37 saves but didn’t get enough help from his offense as stopping 37 of 39 shots was simply not enough.
The game was scoreless for the first 35:43. Finally Adam Pardy scored, putting it past Frederik Andersen, assisted by Mathieu Perreault and Adam Lowry. The Jets took a 1-0 lead into the second intermission, but could not hold on.
In the third Maroon scored on a power play following a high sticking by Andrew Ladd. Cam Fowler and Ryan Getzlaf assisted on his goal. Finally Silfverberg scored his goal, assisted by Ryan Kesler and Simon Despres.
The Ducks will look to take a 3-0 series lead in Winnipeg on Monday night, it will be the first NHL postseason game in Winnipeg since 1996.
