Home sweet home. Sometimes just being at home can help you feel more comfortable and be more successful in your endeavors. The Minnesota Wild went home after a 4-1 loss to the St. Louis Blues in Game 2 of the series, but had it tied up at 1-1 and wanted to retake the series lead on home ice.

They certainly would as they controlled the game from start to finish. They didn't have any penalties in the opening period and even had their own power play as Blues defenseman Barret Jackman got called for cross-checking. They didn't get any goals in the opening period but were the more aggressive teams, outshooting the Blues 9-4. Jake Allen did his job in the opening period, but he wouldn't be able to keep the Wild out for the whole game.

It took until the 35th minutes of the game for the Wild to finally get one past him, as Jason Pominville scored his second goal of the series  while being assisted by Zach Parise and Mikael Granlund. In just over two minutes later, Pominville and Granlund got assists again as Parise lit up the lamp this time to give the Wild a 2 goal edge.

That would be the only 2 goals scored on Jake Allen as they would pull him for the extra man late in the third period, when Nino Niederreiter would score his first goal of the 2015 postseason on an empty net.

In the final minute of the game, Steve Ott was ejected and given a 10 minute game misconduct penalty as the frustration for the Blues was spilling over for their lack of success on Dubnyk in the game.

This does of course give the Wild a 2-1 edge in the series as they look to pull off the opening round upset on the Blues. To keep home ice in the series that they stole in game 1, they will need to win game 4 as well. Game 4 remains in Minnesota on Wednesday, April 22.
