The Dallas Stars are out of the playoffs but that doesn't mean that aren't active. Apparently, the organization is already planning with a view towards the future and in that sense, they've made a signing that's expected to help the franchise sooner rather than alter.

According to several reports, the Stars have inked forward Mattias Janmark to a two-year. two-way deal worth $1.47 million. The fact that's a two-way contract reveals that he will earn a different salary depending on where he plays.

Janmark arrived to Dallas on the deadline as he was part of the deal that sent Erik Cole to the Detroit Red Wings. The Swede was taken 79th overall in the NHL 2013 Entry Draft and even though he has yet to play on the States, he has proven to be a reliable scorer at the European Level.

Even though he's expected to play in Europe the next season - as reported by SHL club Florunda - the Stars will have a look at Janmark now since he'll be added to the Texas Stars roster that will play in the AHL Playoffs. It will be interesting how the settles in a team that's known for being a potent force in the league.

Janmark had 36 points in 55 games this last season.
