After dropping the last two games, it was time for the Tampa Bay Lightning to get themselves in gear to make sure that they would not drop four in a row as they had the horrible opportunity to drop four in a row. But they always just need to be able to get themselves together and on home ice in game 6 this would be their best chance to close out the series.

Nikita Kucherov made sure that they were going to start off strong in the opening period, with 4:25 left in the period he had gotten the pass from Ondrej Palat and was able to light up the lamp as the Lightning took an early 1-0 lead against Carey Price and the Canadiens. They kept that advantage going as Steven Stamkos scored about 5 minutes into the second period while being assisted by both Alex Killorn and Matt Carle. Stamkos was much better in this second series then he had been in the series against the Red Wings and was a huge reason they were able to have a 3-0 series lead against Montreal. With 18:38 left in the second frame, Devante Smith-Pelly was given a 2 minute minor for holding, but Palat would quickly take advantage of the power play just 18 seconds later and he was assisted by Kucherov and Anton Stralman. Up 3-0 in the game going into the final period, the Lightning had to have some confidence, but knew that they were going to face 20 furious minutes from the Canadiens as they had to fight for their lives.

Ben Bishop did an excellent job throughout the game, saving 18 of 19 shots he faced, as the Canadiens were only able to get a goal with 4:57 left in the game when Max Pacioretty was finally able to get one past him. But that was going to be enough as the Canadiens had to pull Price in order to get an extra skater on the ice, and Kucherov would take advantage as he scored the unassisted empty net goal to provide us with our final score as the Lightning won 4-1, and advance to the Eastern Conference Finals.

Their opponent in the Eastern Conference Finals is still a mystery at this time, as the Tampa Bay Lightning will play either the New York Rangers or the Washington Capitals as they have game 7 of their series tonight in Madison Square Garden.
