After trying to accuire "his guy" for six months, San Jose Sharks GM Doug Wilson has finally found his new-franchise goaltender in Martin Jones.

Jones played only 15 games for the Los Angeles Kings last season, posting a 4-5-2 record and 2.25 goals-against average as Jonathan Quick's main backup.

The Sharks sent a 2016 first-round pick and unsigned forward prospect Sean Kuraly to the Bruins for Jones on Tuesday afternoon.

Jones, who was dealt to the Boston Bruins on Friday alongside the 13th overall pick in the 2015 NHL Draft and prospect Colin Miller for Milan Lucic, finds himself back in the state of California, now playing for his old club's biggest rivals.

Bruins GM Don Sweeney used his goalie assests to land a 2016 first-round pick and Kuraly, who recorded 29 points in 40 games at the University of Miami last season. Sweeney is still trying to build his stock back up with the Bruins faithful after dropping the ball over the past weekend at the draft by trading away Lucic, young defensemen Dougie Hamilton to the Calgary Flames and wasting two of the three Bruins mid-first round picks on heavily-underrated prospects.

San Jose traded their old number one goalie and pending unrestricted free agent Antti Niemi to the Dallas Stars for a seventh-round draft choice on Saturday during the draft. On Monday, Niemi made the trade official by signing a three-year deal with the Stars worth $13.5 million.

A handful of goalie trade targets were all dealt to new teams during day two of the draft on Saturday, as Cam Talbot, Eddie Lack, Anton Khudobin and Antti Raanta all found new homes. The Sharks, who only had goalies Alex Stalock and Troy Grosenick signed for next season before the Jones trade was completed Tuesday, played the waiting game the longest and got the man they wanted between the pipes.

San Jose drafted defenseman Jeremy Roy with the 31st pick, after trading the No. 39 selection his year, their second round pick in 2016 and their sixth rounder in 2017 to the Colorado Avalanche. The Sharks also received the 86th pick in this weekend's past draft from the Edmonton Oilers as compensation for the hiring of Todd McLellan.
