The Montreal Canadiens made some adjustments to their roster as John Scott and Victor Bartley have been acquired as part of a three team deal with the Arizona Coyotes and Nashville Predators, as according to a club announcement on Friday afternoon.

Heading to Arizona in return will be Jarred Tinordi while Nashville is set to recieve Stefan Fournier.

The news comes just a day after a 2-1 against the Chicago Blackhawks took place at the Bell Centre as their loosing streak carries on. It was also the last of a three game home stand as they previously returned from eight games on the road.

It is said that Scott has been assigned to the AHL's St. John's IceCaps while the club will give Bartley a chance to prove himself as he will join the team tomorrow in St. Louis.

Bartley, 27, has played in only one game this season while having appeared in a total of 112 games combined over the course of the past four seasons. through all that time, he owns one goal and 22 assists.

Scott on the other hand is 33 years of game and has years of service under his belt, of which have been spent in Arizona. He is currently a captain for the all star game though it is said that his status in the momentous event is currently unknown as he is being asked to step down.

Scott brings a veteran presence as he has played in a total of 285 games at the NHL level. He will be bring experience to the younger guys in St. John's where they will have the chance to learn from a man who continues to play like the all star he has proven to be in the past.

Tinordi lacks playing time

Looking at Tinordi, he is a former first round pick, 22nd overall at the 2010 NHL Entry Draft. he did not join the team at the season's start as he was given extra time to get himself ready with the IceCaps before joining Montreal in late December. Since then, he has not started a game while making very few apperances; 3 of which where off the bench as limited due for greater needs with injuries having killed the Canadiens of late. He also has 0 assists on the season.

Fournier will join the Predators AHL affiliate in Milwaukee. In the one game he has played this season, he played on the ice without a goal and assists.

Given these transactions, the Canadiens now have a total cap saving of just under $180,000 and roster flexibility.

As according to several recent reports, Habs GM Marc Bergiven made an attempt to unload Tinordi earlier this season for an NHL-ready forward belonging to an Atlantic Division rival, but the deal fell through.

It was also reported that Bergevin was hoping to obtain a draft pick for Tinordi’s services, but no deal could be consummated on those terms.

The eventual deal Bergevin settled for reportedly took weeks to put together. It amounts to getting something as opposed to losing something for nothing.

In the end, Tinordi now gets to start off on a fresh slate in Arizona where he will look to continue the success he has had when healthy in a Canadiens uniform in prior years as he looks to bring light to his new team in the near future.

In other news from earlier in the day, Daniel Carr and Sven Andrighetto have been reassigned while Jacob De La Rose has been recalled and will suit up for Saturday night's game against the Blues at Scottrade Center.

St. Lous will head into the game with a 25-15-7 record whie holding down 3rd place in the Central division. After last night's game, the Habs now own a 23-18-3 record while standing at 3rd place in the Atlantic division.

The game will be availible for viewing on SNE, RDS, TVA, CBC, Fox Sports Midwest and RSN. The game can be heard on 98.5FM and TSN 690.
