With the Montreal Canadiens having recorded their 6th straight loss since January 1 on Sunday night, it might just be a matter of time until GM Marc Bergiven makes the decision to let head coach Michel Therrien go.

Recent skid is cause for concern

The Chicago Blackhawks played host to Montreal at the United Centre on Sunday night following a match against the St. Louis Blues in which had also resulted in a loss by final score of 4-3 in overtime. On the second game of a short road trip, the Habs would end their losing skid when they pulled out a 2-1 win over the New Jersey Devils

Their next home game, in a must win situation for not only the coach's sake but forr the team as well, comes against their arch rivals, the Boston Bruins.

After that, they head back out on the road to face the Toronto Maple Leafs and Columbus Blue Jackets before returning for another match against Columbus. The Philidelphia Flyers will then host them before a four game home stand starts on Wednesday February 3 against the Buffalo Sabres.

Therrien has history with Canadiens

Returning the focus back on Therrien: he has been with the Canadiens for the past four seasons after signing with the club in 2012. He came in as the replacement for Alain Vigneault where the situation was very much the same; previously, Therrien was the head coach of the Pittsburgh Penguins.

Montreal was a rather familair location for Therrien when the hunt for a potential fit arose as he had begun his career in coaching with three years of experience behind the Canadiens bench.

Sunday night was one of which was crucial for the team with the playoffs just around the corner. Given their two fallouts that have taken place, they have fallen further down the standings chart as a victory was hightly anticpated by all on the Montreal side.

Going into tomorrow's game, the Habs hold a record of 23-19-4 while standing in 5th place in the Atlantic division while Boston is 23-16-5 while standing in 4th place in the Atlantic division.

Puck drop is scheduled for 7:00 PM ET and is available for viewing on SNE, RDS, NESN and RSNE. The game can be heard on 98.5FM and TSN 690.
