The Montreal Canadiens are on the road for a quick two game road trip which starts in another Canadian arena, as the Toronto Maple Leafs get set to play host to a team who looks to earn a victory following a five-game loosing streak dating back to Wednesday January 6 when the club took on the New Jersey Devils at the Bell Centre. 

Given the way the Habs have performed over the course of several weeks, head coach Michel Therrien does not seem to be going anywhere anytime soon after GM Marc Bergevin said in a Thursday morning press conference that he is confident in Therrien and his coaching staff, as well as the players.

The team has confirmed that Mike Condon will get the start between the pipes tonight for the 69th time this season, following a poor performance from Ben Scrivens on Tuesday when the Boston Bruins arrived in town which resulted in a 4-1 win. This would also be Condon's first career start against Toronto.

Looking at the news surrounding the club that has formed over the past 48 hours, the fans of Montreal have been given lots to digest and comprehend as an announcement was made to address multiple injuries.

Paul Byron is out for the week after suffering a lower-body injury on Tuesday. To take his place, the Canadiens have recalled Daniel Carr from the AHL's St. John's IceCaps.

Tom Gilbert is day-to-day as he has been out since December 22 and looks to make a return to the ice in the near future. He did take part in Thursday's practice in Brossard. 

Nathan Beaulieu is out with a lower-body injury he suffered on Tuesday as well. With that said, both are en route to Toronto, however, and will remain out of action as the club battles a team that has lost six of their last seven games. 

Carey Price practiced on Friday, however, but is said to be out for the next 3-4 weeks as he has been out since Nov. 25 with a lower-body injury.

The Maple Leafs took on the Philadelphia Flyers on Tuesday night where they pulled out with a 3-2 victory. The team then faced the Carolina Hurricanes where they were shutout 1-0 on Thursday.

James Reimer started both games and is expected to get the start tonight for the Maple Leafs, who hold a record of 17-20-8 while standing in seventh place in the Atlantic division. Looking on the Montreal side of things, the Canadiens hold a record of 23-20-4 while standing in fifth place in the Atlantic division.
