The 2016 NWSL College Draft concluded earlier this afternoon. The day was highlighted by a flurry of trades, including a blockbuster deal between the Portland Thorns and Sky Blue FC, which saw the Sky Blue trade 2015 leading scorer Nadia Nadim in order to move up one spot and draft second overall.

For forty young women, it was a day to remember as they embark on their pro careers. Like any professional draft, some will become stars, others may never make a roster.  Virginia's Emily Sonnett was, as many thought she would be, the number one overall selection.
