Terrific performance from the USWNT to win 5-1. They were all over the Swiss today; it could have been 10. Thanks for joining me for this one, I've been Liam McMahon. Have a good Sunday.

90+3' One last Swiss foray forward produces nothing worthy of note before the referee blows her whistle for the final time.

90+2' Moser enters the book for a bad tackle on Ohai.

90+1' Ohai struck just 43 seconds after coming onto the field. Magical.

90' Horan almost slipped in Press again, but this time Michel beat her to the ball. Three more minutes coming.

89' The denoument to today's action has gotten a little bit scrappy.

88' Kiwic comes off for Melanie Muller here.

87' Heath in behind now but once again the flag comes up for offside.

86' A couple fans starting to head for the exits, but it seems like all involved had a good time this afternoon.

85' Patricia Willi comes on for Mauron.

84' This has been a superb second half from the USWNT.

83' Ohai's instant impact may have gotten the biggest roar of the afternoon.

82' What an entrance for Ohai! She scores less than a minute into her USWNT career! That is a moment she will never, ever forget.

81' Dunn leaves the field for Kealia Ohai, who is earning her first cap.

80' Press has a shot stopped on the line, but the flag was up anyway.

79' A rare Swiss attack comes to nothing. It has been one way traffic in this second period, but the fans have had a good time, if the wave ringing around the stadium is anything to go off of.

78' Williams takes her turn to shoot from distance and pulls one wide.

77' Speaking of almost goals, Horan strides forward and has a hit from distance which dinks off the post.

76' Great work from Williams yet again to send a great ball into the box, but Switzerland scrap it away again. The USWNT could have had 10 today.

74' Carli Lloyd leaves the pitch to a standing ovation as Lindsey Horan comes on.

73' Short enters the book for a cynical challenge on Mauron.

71' Aigbogun off for Switzerland as Bangerter comes on. Meanwhile, the US almost score again down the other end. Thrills and spills all over the pitch today.

70' Press off the bar! She could have had a hat trick today! Another great ball over the top put her in goal all alone, and she beat the keeper but could not beat the bar. Inches away.

69' Ball on a string stuff from Tobin Heath to win a corner. As the US Soccer fella behind me just said, "we almost had a Messi moment."

67' Dahlkemper with some good work to tidy up at the back in her first action of the day.

66' Substitution now for the USWNT as Abby Dahlkemper comes on for Becky Sauerbrunn. Good performance today from the co-captain.

65' The largest USWNT crowd in Minnesota history have been treated to a goalfest today.

63' And Crystal Dunn makes it four! Terrific move there from the USWNT! Some terrific work from Short started it off before Lloyd set Williams in behind. She squared the ball to Dunn, who had the simplest of finishes. 4-1 now.

62' Williams with her best chance of the afternoon there in behind the defensive line, but she could only slice a strike over the bar.

61' The corner creates all kinds of havoc in the box, and probably could have been diverted in on multiple occasions. However, the pressure is relieved by a Williams header over the bar.

60' Good work from Williams wins a corner. The USWNT have not stopped attacking here.

59' Substitution for Switzerland now as Zehnder comes off for Moser.

57' Attendance today is 23,400, a record to watch the USWNT in the state of Minnesota.

56' The Outlaws are now letting the players now they just can't get enough of them.

55' This is a lead the USWNT thoroughly deserve for their play this afternoon. The goals have all been brilliant.

53' Press makes up for not finishing her chance two minutes ago with a stunning chip. Sullivan clipped the ball over the top, and Press noticed Michel off her line from the edge of the 18. A world class chip was produced to make it 3-1 USA. That was a stunning finish.

51' Goal Carli Lloyd! She really is something, isn't she. The best player on the planet strode through the Swiss defense like a hot knife through butter before splitting two defenders with an outside of the foot pass to pick out Press. The Chicago striker had a shot blocked, and the rebound fell to Lloyd on the edge of the box. She took the ball out of the air and fired it in past Michel. 2-1 USA.

49' Corner coming for the USWNT...

48' Crystal Dunn is now in her third different position of the afternoon, operating out wide on the right so that Press can slot in up top.

47' It took 65 whole seconds for the USWNT to be caught offside again.

Stenia Michel replaces Gaelle Thalmann in goal for the Swiss, while Christen Press and Samantha Mewis are now on for the USWNT. Kelly O'Hara and Morgan Brian made way for them.

It'll be interesting to see what, if any, changes are wrung by Ellis at half time. I'll be back for the second 45 in a little bit.

HT: The USWNT had yet another flurry of chances at the end of the half, but we head into the break at 1-1. That was a highly entertaining first half. At times, it felt like a game of FIFA due to the sheer amount of chances which were created but were not taken.

42' Dunn off the post! She had a shot from a ridiculously tight angle which beat Thalmann but not the woodwork. The rebound made its way to Carli Lloyd, who brought the ball down well but saw her shot blocked. How have we only had two goals in this half?

40' Dunn caught offside again. The Swiss defense has used that brilliantly in this first half, it must be said.

38' Dunn and Williams almost connected again there. A very nice partnership appears to be developing between them.

37' Corner comes to nothing for the USWNT.

36' Another good stop from the Swiss keeper. O'Hara whipped a fantastic ball into the box that Long got the slightest of touches on. However, Thalmann was up to the task again and held on to the ball.

35' Thalmann is now back on her feet and we're back underway.

33' Williams was in that time and looked to cut a cross back from the endline. It almost found Dunn but was deflected out for a corner. Brian's ball in was half cleared to Short, who sliced a shot out of play. Thalmann is now down injured.

32' The American Outlaws are now twisting and shouting. Not quite as good as what you'd hear at Red Bull Arena, but fun nonetheless.

31' We were given word in the press box that Lloyd's goal was from 27 yards out.

30' Thalmann almost ran herself into trouble at the back, but managed to flick the ball away before Williams could dispossess her.

28' Everyone in the stadium is still trying to wrap their heads around what Carli Lloyd just did. That was some goal.

27' Williams was just inches away from putting the USWNT ahead, that was almost as good as the previous strike.

25' Goal for Carli Lloyd! And that is why she is the best player in the world. The no. 10 had time and space from almost 30 yards out and came up with an absolute rocket into the top corner. That was some hit.

23' After their flurry of early chances, the USWNT have struggled to create much in this last passage of play.

21' A yellow card to Calligaris now for a pull on Brian.

20' Early on it looked almost like Lloyd was playing as the second striker behind Williams, but Lloyd and Dunn have swapped positions. Lloyd is operating in the tradition no. 10 role with Dunn further ahead.

18' There will have been a remarkable opportunity missed if there are no new gifs of Carli Lloyd dribbling through defenders by the end of this game. Her control is a sight to see.

17' Mauron picks up a yellow card for a cynical tackle on O'Hara, which draws the loudest cheer of the day so far.

15' A sublime ball from Lloyd sends Dunn in on goal but her shot from a tight angle is well saved.

14' The game has just hit a bit of a lull since the goal, the crowd have quieted down a bit.

13' Terrific combination play had O'Hara in behind again, but once again the flag raised to end the move.

11' The movement from Brian, Lloyd and Dunn is simply fantastic to watch.

10' Lloyd was in behind and quite clearly pulled back by Calligaris, but the referee gave nothing. That was poor.

9' We said there would be goals, but I'm not sure anyone in here thought Switzerland would score the first goal of the day after the USWNT had four chances in the opening five minutes.

7' A lightning quick counter attack from Switzerland ends with a goal for Mauron! Dickenmann had a strike which was batted out by Harris but only as far as Mauron, who fired home. Well that was unexpected.

6' A brilliant run from Heath created room for Dunn to get in a cross. Thalmann palmed it out to O'Hara, who could only fire over the bar. Something tells me there are goals in this one.

5' Sullivan has a hit from the edge of the box that is well held by Thalmann. USWNT all over the Swiss at the moment.

4' Dangerous ball sent into the mixer from Lloyd which took a deflection and almost went in for an own goal. Out for a corner.

3' Early save made by Thalmann. Heath was in on goal with just the keeper to beat, but Thalmann stood tall. USWNT look dangerous every time they go forward.

2' Lloyd and Heath combine well before O'Hara is played in behind, but she is offside as well.

1' USWNT look to be setting up in a 3-5-2 with O'Hara and Heath pushing high up the wings. Meanwhile, Switzerland are in a 5-3-2 looking to press high up the pitch. They've got an offside trap going as well, which catches Lloyd as she looked to make an early run in behind.

Here comes kickoff. Here's to a fun 90 minutes...

The teams are on their way out onto the field, time for the anthems.

US Bank does a terrific job of retaining noise. It must be crazy during Vikings games.

Switzerland starting XI: Thalmann; Maritz, Kuster, Abbe, Kiwic; Zehnder, Calligaris, Bernauer, Mauron; Dickenmann, Aigbogun

It'll be interesting to see what sort of formation the USWNT come out in. In the XI today they only have two players listed on the roster as defenders. Expect Allie Long to sit deeper in what could be a 3-5-2 with Tobin Heath and Kelly O'Hara playing as wing backs.

Always fun to see just how excited the fans are to see the USWNT. Lots of great crowd shots on the big screens in the last couple of minutes.

Only the lower bowl of US Bank was opened up for this match, but around 21,000 people are expected for this afternoon's match, and the American Outlaws are already making a little bit of noise.

Available substitutes for the USWNT: Naeher, Mewis, Ohai, Horan, Sonnett, Dahlkemper, Press

Starting XI for the USWNT: Harris; Sauerbrunn, Long, Short; O'Hara, Sullivan, Brian, Lloyd, Heath; Dunn, Williams

Everything looks lovely inside US Bank Stadium, where we've got just under 90 minutes to kick off. This should be fun.

Lynn Williams, the 2016 NWSL MVP, made her USWNT debut against Switzerland last week, and became the 20th USWNT player to score on her national team debut. After the Western New York Flash ace wrote the headlines last time out, it will be interesting to see if the only woman who scored as many times as Williams did in league play this season makes her USWNT debut. Both Williams and Kealia Ohai of the Houston Dash notched goals on 11 occasions in NWSL play this season, and both were called in by Ellis for these friendlies. Will Ohai get to make her bow?

Following the Olympics, the USWNT find themselves in a transitionary period, as they look to start building towards the 2019 FIFA World Cup. However, there is more than mere pride and a place in future squads to play for on Sunday. While they were knocked out of the Olympic Quarterfinals by Sweden on penalties, they’re unbeaten in regulation over the course of 2016, going 19-0-3 (W-L-D). Sunday’s match is the third-to-last on the schedule for the USWNT this year; they’re still due to play Romania in a set of friendlies in mid-November.

The full roster available to the USWNT in today’s match is as follows…

GOALKEEPERS (2): 1-Alyssa Naeher (Chicago Red Stars), 24- Ashlyn Harris (Orlando Pride)

DEFENDERS (7): 14-Abby Dahlkemper (Western New York Flash), 11-Arin Gilliland (Chicago Red Stars), 15-Merritt Mathias (Seattle Reign), 5-Kelley O'Hara (Sky Blue FC), 4-Becky Sauerbrunn (FC Kansas City), 8-Casey Short (Chicago Red Stars), 12- Emily Sonnett (Portland Thorns FC)

MIDFIELDERS (8): 6-Morgan Brian (Houston Dash), 22-Danielle Colaprico (Chicago Red Stars), 17-Tobin Heath (Portland Thorns FC), 9-Lindsey Horan (Portland Thorns FC), 10-Carli Lloyd(Houston Dash), 20-Allie Long (Portland Thorns FC), 3- Samantha Mewis (Western New York Flash), 19- Andi Sullivan (Stanford)

FORWARDS (6): 16-Crystal Dunn (Washington Spirit), 2-Shea Groom (FC Kansas City), 21-Ashley Hatch (BYU), 7-Kealia Ohai (Houston Dash), 12-Christen Press (Chicago Red Stars), 13- Lynn Williams (Western New York Flash)

That victory is ever more impressive considering the experimental nature of the squad which USWNT boss Jill Ellis called in for these two friendlies. While September’s set of friendlies against Thailand and The Netherlands only featured players who were on the Olympic roster this summer, in October she chose to bring in 11 uncapped players. Williams, Andi Sullivan, Casey Short, Abby Dahlkemper and Ashley Hatch all earned their first caps during the 4-0 victory last week.

This is the second of two October friendlies between these two sides; they met four days ago in Sandy, Utah at Rio Tinto Stadium. Behind goals from Lynn Williams, Tobin Heath, Christen Press and Samantha Mewis, the USWNT had little trouble dispatching the Swiss 4-0.
