As the 99th Running of the Indianapolis 500 draws ever nearer, here is a look at the record of each of this year's drivers at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway (discluding Sunday's qualifying for the 99th Running).

Reigning IndyCar Series Champion Will Power has competed in the '500' seven times, with six top-10 starts including two front rows, as well asthree top-10 finishes - the highest being 5th in 2009.

Juan Pablo Montoya has raced at IMS twice, winning for Ganassi in 2000 from a second place start, and finishing 5th last year after starting 10th.

Helio Castroneves has raced at Indianapolis 14 times, starting in the top-10 for 11 of those races, including four pole positions and one front row. The only three-time winner in the field has backed that up with three other top 3 finishes and a further six top 10 placings.

James Hinchcliffe has competed at IMS four times, with three top 10 starts, including two front rows. His only top 10 finish was 6th in 2012. He will not race this year after a scary crash that saw him immediately transported to Methodist Hospital. 

After coming agonisingly close with a runner-up finish in his rookie year in 2011, JR Hildebrand also finished in the top 10 last year. He also has two top-10 starts.

James Jakes has attempted to race in the '500' three times. After not qualifying in 2011, he started 17th and finished 15th in 2012, and started and finished in 20th in 2013.

In his first 500 last year, Sage Karam qualified 31st and finished 9th.

In 12 races at IMS, Scott Dixon has qualified on pole once, with another front row and five other top-10 starts. In addition to his 2008 win, the most recent win of the race from pole position, he has been runner-up twice, with a further five top 10 finishes.

In his 13 starts in the 500, Tony Kanaan has had nine top-10 starting positions, including one pole and two other front row starts. As well as finally winning the race in 2013, after several near misses, he has three top three finishes and three other top-10 results.

Sebastien Bourdais has competed at IMS four times; his best qualification results are 15th in 2005 and 2013, and his best finish being 7th in 2014.

Takuma Sato has started in the top-10 once, in 2011, and his best result was 13th in 2013. He was in the running for a top three finish in 2012 before crashing out in the final laps and being classified 17th.

In seven races at IMS, Graham Rahal has two top-10 starting positions and one top three finish, in 2011.

Sebastian Saavedra has made five attempts at the '500', including 2011 when he did not qualify. His best starting position is 24th in 2012, and his best finish is 15th in 2014.

Carlos Huertas made his '500' debut last year, starting 21st and finishing 17th.

James Davison also made his debut last year, starting 28th and finishing 16th.

Ed Carpenter has made 11 starts in the '500'. As well as being polesitter in 2013 and 2014, he has two more top 10 starts. He has three top 10 finishes, the best being 5th in 2008. He was unable to make history by winning pole position for the race for the third year in a row after becoming the third Chevrolet-powered car to flip; his accident came at the end of the final practice before qualifying. 

Josef Newgarden has made three appearances in the '500', with two top-10 starts and a best finish of 25th in 2012.

Simon Pagenaud has raced in the Indianapolis 500 three times, with a best starting position of 5th in 2014 and a best finish of 8th in 2013.

In eight '500' starts, Townsend Bell has two top-10 starts and two top-10 finishes, including 4th in 2009.

In seven starts in the race, Justin Wilson has a best starting position of 11th in 2010, and three top-10 finishes, the best being 5th in 2013.

Carlos Munoz has raced in the '500' twice, qualifying and finishing 2nd in his rookie year in 2013, and starting 7th and finishing 4th in 2014.

Marco Andretti, who will be making his 10th start in the race come next Sunday, has seven top-10 starts, including a front row in 2013. His best finish was 2nd in his rookie year, 2006. He also has three third places and two other top-10 finishes.

Defending Indianapolis 500 winner Ryan Hunter-Reay has made seven attempts at the race. He has qualified in the top-10 twice, including a front row start in 2012, although in 2011 he took over the A.J. Foyt racing entry from Bruno Junqueira having failed to qualify his Andretti Autosport during an abysmal qualifying weekend for the team. As well as last year's win, he has one other top three result and another top-10 finish.

Simona de Silvestro has competed in the '500' four times, with a best starting position of 22nd in 2010 and a best finish of 14th the same year.

Oriol Servia has made six starts in the '500', the first in 2008 having previously failed to qualify in 2002. He has one front row start, in 2011, and finished 6th that year, one of two top-10 finishes, the other being his best finish of 4th in 2012.

Jack Hawksworth made his debut in the '500' in 2014, starting 13th and finishing 20th.

Conor Daly made his only previous '500' start in 2013, starting 31st and finishing 22nd.

Alex Tagliani has made six starts in the '500'. For his first start in 2009 he took over Bruno Junqueira's car having failed to qualify. Tagliani was polesitter in 2011 and has one other top-10 starting position. His best finishing position was 10th in 2010.

Pippa Mann has competed in three '500s', with a best start of 22nd in 2014 and a best finish of 20th in 2011.

Charlie Kimball has raced at IMS four times, with a best starting position of 14th in 2012 and a best finish of 8th the same year, one of two top-10 finishes.

Bryan Clauson has made one previous '500' start, in 2012, starting 31st and finishing 30th.

There are two drivers who will be racing in their first Indianapolis 500, Stefano Coletti and Gabby Chaves. Coletti is a rookie of the Verizon IndyCar Series for this 2015 season with KV Racing Technology while Chaves is the reigning Indy Lights Presented by Cooper Tires champion, racing this year for his first year in the Verizon IndyCar Series with Bryan Herta Autosport.
