On Wednesday, the Boston Herald reported that INDYCAR came to terms with race organizers to schedule a season finale for the 2016 Verizon IndyCar Series on the streets of Boston, Massachusetts. 

Taking place in the Seaport District of the city, race organizers expect the event as a whole to attract over 250,000 spectators and make an economic impact of $75 million to $80 million. 

On 3:30 pm ET on Thursday, May 21, the race is to be officially announced by CEO of Hulman and Company Mark Miles, IndyCar President of Competition and Operations Derrick Walker, and reigning series champion Will Power at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
