Christian Fittipaldi has earned Action Express Racing the pole for Saturday's 100-minute Chevrolet Sports Car Classic on the tight and bumpy Raceway at Belle Isle Park.

Fittipaldi's fast lap time that earned him pole position was a 1:24.746, edging out the No. 10 Wayne Taylor Racing entry driven during qualifying by Ricky Taylor by just 0.05 of a second. Taylor's best lap was a 1:24.796.

Michael Valiante earned P3 on the starting grid for Saturday's 100-minute race, making it a 1-2-3 Corvette result and starting grid - with General Motors headquarters only minutes away from the circuit. 

The Chevrolet Sports Car Classic will get underway on Saturday just after noon EDT on Detroit's Belle Isle.
