A 45-minute practice, followed by qualifying two-and-a-half hours later, followed by the 250-lap race at 5:35 pm (Eastern).

This upcoming weekend at the historic Milwaukee Mile will surely take its toll on the teams and drivers of the Verizon IndyCar Series with a schedule like that.

The field will practice, qualify, and race for 250 miles all in one day at the ABC Supply Wisconsin 250 at Milwaukee IndyFest presented by the Metro Milwaukee Honda Dealers this coming weekend.

A.J. Foyt made 45 starts at the famed Milwaukee speedway in his career, and is a fan of such a schedule.

I’m glad to see it that way because it’s cheaper on the car owners and makes things easier in some ways,” said 80-year-old Foyt. “You save a lot of money, and the wear and tear on the car and on the crew. Also, you save on your tire bill because you don’t use as many tires."

His two A.J. Foyt Enterprises cars, driven by Takuma Sato and Jack Hawksworth, display mostly ABC Supply branding as the primary sponsor.

Will Power won the race at Milwaukee last year during his campaign to his first series title.

"It means you have to get it right quickly," said the Australian.

Power is exactly right with this statement. A single practice session before qualifying changes how the teams will handle the opening 45-minute session as they scramble to find an ideal setup. Overall, Milwaukee is no new track for about the entire field, so the style of the weekend shouldn't be all too difficult as quickly tuning the car may come easy to many of the drivers.
