Jack Baldwin was quickest in the opening practice of the weekend for the GTS class at Sonoma Raceway in the No. 73 GTSport Racing Porsche Cayman S.

Early on in the 30-minute session, Baldwin went to the top of the charts with a 1:43.311, followed by Mark Wilkins, driver of the No. 38 Kinetic Motorsports Kia Optima with a 1:44.041 and Andrew Aquilante in the No. 32 Phoenix American Motorsports Ford Mustang Boss 302 with a 1:44.336.

Baldwin, in the No. 73 Porsche Cayman S, soon bettered his time to a 1:42.264; this would stand as the top time of the opening session for the GTS field for the Sonoma weekend.

Behind Baldwin was Aquilante with a fastest lap of 1:42.921 followed by Nick Esayian of the No. 34 Stephen Cameron Racing Aston Martin Vantage GT4, whose best time was a 1:43.208 - almost a full second behind Baldwin's leading lap time.

Michael Cooper, driver of the No. 10 Blackdog Speed Shop Chevrolet Camaro and points leader entering this Sonoma weekend, was eighth quickest in the session with a best lap of 1:44.304.

Next up for the GTS drivers is Practice 2, which is set for 3:45 pm ET on Saturday.
