The two Porsche Team cars were the fastest in the third practice session for the Six Hours of Nürburgring. The No. 18 Porsche of Romain Dumas, Neel Jani and Marc Lieb set the fastest time of the weekend, 1:36.036. Its sister car, the No. 17 Porsche, was 0.611 seconds behind.

Third and fourth-fastest were the Audi Sport Team Joest cars. The No. 8 Audi was third, 0.999 seconds behind the leader, and Friday's fastest car, the No. 7 Audi, was fourth, 1.073 seconds behind the leader.

The Toyota Racing cars were fifth and sixth they were in both of Friday's sessions. For the first time this weekend the No. 1 was the faster Toyota. It was fifth, 2.814 seconds behind the leader. The sixth-placed No. 2 Toyota was 3.857 seconds behind the leader.

In LMP2, Strakka Racing topped this third practice session. The Gibson-Nissan of Nick Leventis, Danny Watts and Jonny Kane set a time of 1:45.720 and was 10th overall. Second-fastest in the LMP2 class was the Oreca-Nissan of KCMG, 0.082 seconds behind the Strakka entry.

In GTE-Pro, the two AF Corse Ferraris were fastest. The No. 51 Ferrari of Gianmaria Bruni and Toni Vilander was the fastest lap, topping the No. 71 Ferrari of Davide Rigon and James Calado by 0.150 seconds. Third fastest in the class was the No. 99 car of Aston Martin Racing, 0.472 seconds behind the class leader.

In GTE-AM, the Abu Dhabi-Proton Racing Porsche of  Christian RiedKhaled Al Qubaisi and Earl Bamber was fastest. Second-fastest was the No. 98 Aston Martin, 0.445 seconds slower.

The Six Hours of Nürburgring weekend continues with qualifying on Saturday, set for 2:00 - 2:50 pm local (8:00 - 8:50 am ET).
