The Six Hours of Nürburgring weekend continued with qualifying on Saturday to determine the starting positions for Sunday's six-hour race.

LMP1 and LMP2

Porsche Team claimed the front row positions for the race. Marc Lieb and Romain Dumas claimed the pole position for the No. 18 Porsche with an average lap time of 1:36.473. Timo Bernhard and Mark Webber were second in the No. 17 Porsche, just 0.069 seconds behind the sister car.

Audi Sport Team Joest claimed the third and fourth places. The No. 8 Audi was third, 1.003 seconds slower than the polesitter, while the No. 7 Audi was third, 1.310 seconds behind. Toyota Racing claimed the fifth and sixth places on the grid, with the No. 1 Toyota fifth, 2.216 seconds behind, and the sixth-placed No. 2 Toyota 2.898 seconds behind on average lap time for the session.

The factory LMP1s were followed by the privateer LMP1s. Rebellion Racing's No. 12 car was seventh and their No. 13 car was eighth. The Team Bykolles car was ninth.

In LMP2, the Oreca-Nissan of KCMG claimed topped the session with an average lap time of 1:46.132, while the No. 26 G-Drive Racing Ligier-Nissan was second-fastest, 0.806 seconds behind the class leader.

GTE-Pro and Am

The Ferraris of AF Corse clained the first two positions in the GTE-Pro class. Toni Vilander and Gianmaria Bruni in the No. 51 Ferrari set an average time of 1:54.275, topping the No. 71 Ferrari of Davide Rigon and James Calado by 0.055 seconds.

Marco Sørensen set the fastest lap time of the GT qualifying session, a 1:53.964, though the average with co-driver Christoffer Nygaard's lap time was enough only for third position for the No. 95 Aston Martin Racing car, 0.223 seconds behind the class leader. The No. 92 Porsche Team Manthey car claimed the fourth position, with an average lap time that was 0.413 seconds slower than the class leader.

In GTE-Am, the No. 72 SMP Racing Ferrari claimed first position with an average lap time of 1:56.528. The No. 98 Aston Martin was second-fastest, 0.232 seconds behind the class leader.
