The No. 90 Corvette DP of VisitFlorida.com Racing, leader of the flagship Prototype class entering this finale weekend, is running well outside of the podium position it needs to secure the title.

Separate incidents for drivers Michael Valiante and Mike Rockenfeller within the third hour of 10 that are planned to be raced at Braselton, Georgia's Road Atlanta.

Valiante spun the car off the track whilst running in second at Turn 12 in the early minutes of the hour, then had difficulty rejoining the track after getting the No. 90 Corvette DP stuck in the soaked red clay that outlines the 2.54-mile Road Atlanta. Eventually, though not without close calls with competitors flying by, Valiante was able to return to the track.

Inside the same hour, just 50 minutes later, Mike Rockenfeller ran wide on a restart and went full-speed into the grass, digging the front splitter into the grass and spending what seemed like ages attempting to rejoin the track. At one point, he was able to reverse onto the track, narrowly missing a flying No. 31 Action Express Racing car of Dane Cameron.

Leading the season-ending Petit Le Mans at this stage ahead of the halfway mark are Dane Cameron (P; overall), Andrew Palmer (PC), John Edwards (GTLM) and Townsend Bell (GTD).
