The Los Angeles Galaxy is coming off a 5-0 win to face the defending MLS champion Sporting Kansas City. It is bound to be a great match from these two teams, who both want the win to maintain their dominance. Although, SKC is first in the Eastern Conference, LA is only 5 points behind and in third in the Western Conference. Both teams have a fair chance of being the victor because LA has been doing well as of late.

Those who believe in statistics should note that history says whichever team scores the first goal will win the match. This is just what is statistically probable, but truly, these teams won't let anything hold them back and it may be the year to end that rule. Both teams are currently on an undefeated run, but who will be the first to fall? A win for either team could be crucial, but it will be a challenge on both sides.

Gyasi Zardes has been a goal-scoring machine for LA as of late by scoring in five of his last seven matches. The SKC defense will have to stay on their toes to keep the young striker from scoring one against their team. SKC does have a weapon of its own in its offense by the names of Dom Dwyer. Dwyer is second in the league for most goals scored with fourteen! This is something that should make LA defense a little nervous, but they will be better prepared to face such a powerful striker.

LA is under no impression that this will be an easy match. The SKC performance against Columbus Crew did not go unnoticed and LA midfielder Stefan Ishizaki said, “We know it’s going to be a tough game. We know they never quit. They played with 10 men for a lot of the game and still they won it 2-1, so they have a lot of confidence.” Taking down Columbus with one man down is a challenge, but SKC was successful. LA must look to keep SKC on their toes.

Two of LA’s defenders Robbie Rogers and Omar Gonzalez were missing from training, which could mean bad things for LA when they need to put their best foot forward. Gonzalez is their best defender and Rogers has been really making a name for himself in the back line. However, both Rogers and Gonzalez were missing from the lineup for its match against New England Revolution and LA did more than okay.

Will LA be able to earn the three points to move up the table or will SKC take it home and remain on top? May the best team let their actions speak louder than their words.
