United States Men's National Team manager Jurgen Klinsmann has called 22 players into camp before the upcoming friendly between the USMNT and the Czech Republic. On September 3rd, the Americans will take on the Czechs in Prague at 2:15 P.M. ET. It will kick off the long, arduous qualification campaign for the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia.

Klinsmann's squad for this friendly shows a clear intention to look at the youth attempting to break into the senior squad. In this 22, there are 15 players who are either 24 years of age or younger, 11 with 10 caps or less, and six looking to make their senior national team debut.

There are ten members of the 2014 FIFA World Cup squad who have been included in the squad for this friendly. They include the hero of the game against Ghana, defender John Brooks from Hertha Berlin, defender and breakout star Fabian Johnson, and 19 year old Bayern Munich starlet Julian Green who scored in the 2-1 loss to Belgium.

Among the six un-capped players included in this squad, there are some very surprising names. Chief among them is Stanford University and former Seattle Sounders academy star Jordan Morris. The 19-year-old is just entering his sophomore year at Stanford, and is the first college player to receive a call-up from Klinsmann.

Another couple of surprising names are a pair of 18 year olds: midfielder Emerson Hyndman of Fulham, and forward Rubio Rubin of FC Utrecht in Holland. This presents Hyndman to make a second debut in as many months. On August 9th, the Texan made his professional debut for Fulham in an English Football League Championship encounter playing the full 90 minutes in their 2-1 loss to Ipswich Town. Rubin too has impressed at club level, and the Portland Timbers academy project made his professional debut just weeks ago on August 17th in their 2-1 victory over Willem II

It will be intriguing to see how Klinsmann chooses to use the talented youth available to him.
