The two newest Major League Soccer franchises face off against each other in the opening weekend of the 2015 MLS season as Orlando City SC host New York City FC.

In a highly anticipated battle between 2007 World Player of the Year Kaka and Spain’s leading goalscorer David Villa, Orlando and New York kick off at 5pm ET on Sunday 8th March.

Following on from that game, kicking off at 7pm ET, is a repeat of 2014’s Eastern Conference wildcard game between Sporting Kansas City and New York Red Bulls, which Red Bulls won 2-1 at Red Bulls Arena thanks to Bradley Wright-Phillips’ 90th minute header.

2014 MLS Cup runners up New England Revolution round out Week One’s fixtures as they travel across the country to face Seattle Sounders, which starts at 10:30pm ET.

Current Champions Los Angeles Galaxy, who beat Revolution 2-1 in overtime in the 2014 Cup Final on December 7th, opens up the new season on Friday 6th March as they host Chicago Fire at 10pm ET, whilst Saturday begins at RFK Stadium where DC United welcome Montreal Impact at 3pm ET.

Also on Saturday is an all-Canadian clash between Vancouver Whitecaps and Toronto FC, which kicks off at 6pm ET, with Portland Timbers vs. Real Salt Lake having potential to be a fiery match.

Houston Dynamo vs. Columbus Crew SC, Philadelphia Union vs. Colorado Rapids, and FC Dallas vs. San Jose Earthquakes are all on Saturday as well, however their kick off times have yet to be confirmed.
