It took them four weeks, but the Seattle Sounders finally played their first road match of the 2015 MLS season. The Sounders only had six players on the match due to injuries. The Sounders six bench players consisted of five Seattle Sounders 2 (S2) players and one starting in Cristian Roldan. FC Dallas has their issues as well. They were missing several players due to international call ups including their leading scorer in Blas Perez.

The first 15 minutes of the match were mostly dominated by Dallas as they were trying to take advantage of a severely depleted Sounders squad. The Sounders got their first break of the match when Kellyn Acosta was shown a red card after a rash challenge on Andy Rose. Rose took a boot to the midsection at midfield.

Even though Seattle held a man advantage, they were not able to make anything happen in the offensive third of the pitch. Dallas had a few chances throughout the remainder of the first half, but nothing would come of them. Dallas did have a shot go off the crossbar in the 28th minute off of a Michel free kick. The Sounders never threatened the Chris Seitz and the Dallas defense until the very end of the first half. Left back Leo Gonzalez did some hard work deep in the offensive zone, but his pass across the mouth of goal would not amount to anything. Both teams went into the half tied at zero.

The Sounders took the second half kickoff and tried to take advantage of their man advantage. The Sounders were able to hold possession for the majority of the second half and had at least three good chances to take the lead. In the 55th minute Gonzalez sent in a cross that Chad Barrett was able to get his head on, but sent the ball just wide of the goal.

In the 70th minute, Micheal Azira sent a chip into the box that Barrett just missed connecting on to put the Sounders ahead. Just two minutes later, Lamar Neagle found a streaking Barrett on the ride side. Barrett got to the ball and was one on one with Seitz and put the ball just wide of the goal again. Shortly after, Barrett was subbed off for Victor Mansaray. It didn’t take long for Mansaray to have an effect on the match. Somehow he was able to pass the ball to an on rushing Rose in the box, but the ball went just wide once again.

Dallas had one final chance late in the match after a late, stupid foul by Azira that earned him a yellow card. However, Dallas was not able to convert and after three minutes of stoppage, the referee blew the whistle to signal the end of the match.

This became the second straight match that the Sounders played a man up and were not able to convert that to a win. Is there cause for concern about the team not being able to put away opponents? Only time will tell. The Sounders return home next Saturday to take on the Houston Dynamo.
