Ever since the Houston Dynamo made the move into the Eastern Conference, they've been slowly building up a strong rivalry with Sporting Kansas City built on competition between the pair. For years they were the best the East had to offer and the games were exciting affairs full of rough tackles and strong defenses.

Last week's 4 - 4 draw at BBVA Compass Stadium was no exception.

There were three players in particular that Major League Soccer's Disciplinary Committee might review and pass down judgement on. There was a hard tackle from KC's Roger Espinoza on Nathan Sturgis that led to the Honduran earning a yellow card in the 31st minute. A second involved Servando Carrasco hitting Dynamo captain Brad Davis in the face in the 52nd minute. The final play involved Jermaine Taylor's red card in the 77th minute.

The latter play being the most controversial one in which the Dynamo used one of their two demands for review.

Fortunately for Owen Coyle and the Dynamo, the Committee (affectionately called the DisCo by fans) ruled in their favor, saying the call was wrong. Taylor's suspension and fine were rescinded. He'll be able to suit up when the Dynamo host arch-rival FC Dallas on Friday night.

The DisCo also ruled that Carrasco was in violation, suspending him for one match and fining him for hitting Davis in the face during a scuffle in midfield. The defensive midfielder wasn't carded during the play, despite taking place right in front of the referee.

Honduran International Espinoza wasn't suspended for his crunching tackle on Sturgis. Espinoza was given a yellow for his tackle, but fans felt that he should've been dealt with more harshly. The DisCo felt otherwise. In order for the Committee to have handed out additional sanctions, they had to vote unanimously.

Lastly (this was a contentious match, wasn't it?) both teams were warned for violating the Mass Confrontation Policy. MLS teams are allowed a single warning for mass confrontations with officials before being handed fines to the head coach and team. Another violation will result in such sanctions and with the whole season still to play, it wouldn't be surprising to see either club hit with such a fine. There are plenty of matches left between these teams and their other rivals.

What were your thoughts on these fouls? Did the DisCo rule right or wrong? Were there other instances the committee should have reviewed?
