Wigan Athletic's James McClean is rumoured to be attracting interest from several MLS outfits according to ESPN.

The twenty-six year old Republic of Ireland international has expressed his desire to leave the club following their relegation from the Championship to League One in recent weeks.

Orlando City - who have Ireland teammate Sean St. Ledger in their ranks - and New York Red Bulls are in the mix for the left winger, who is set to travel out to the States for talks with interested parties soon.

McClean still has a year left on his deal at the DW Sports stadium which is said to make him just over £20,000 a week. He made thirty-seven appearances across all competitions scoring six and setting up seven, making him one of very few positives of a terrible season for the club.

McClean has also thrived recently under Martin O'Neill's management of the Republic. He scored a brace in their 7-0 European Champions Qualifier victory over Gibraltar, and played a critical role as an impact substitute in the come-from-behind 1-1 draw with Poland in March of this year. He will be hoping for another call-up in June when the Republic host England in a friendly and Scotland in another Euro qualifier.

Colorado Rapids, who boast his compatriot Kevin Doyle are also a possible destination for the former Sunderland man's services.
