After his two goal performance against the Chicago Fire last Friday evening, MLS named Kei Kamara of Columbus Crew SC player of the week. His two goal performance Friday lifted his goal total to nine of the season, which now puts him in the lead for the Golden Boot.

This isn't Kamara’s first two goal performance game. He also scored two against the Vancouver Whitecaps and the Seattle Sounders.

Originally drafted by the Crew in 2006, Kamara made 36 appearances and scored five goals. Kamara was then sent to the San Jose Earthquakes, making 12 starts and two goals. After his career in Sporting Kansas City, he was placed on loan to Norwich City of the Barclays Premier League in England. Kamara is now back where he started his playing career, in Columbus, Ohio playing for the Crew after he spent one season with Middlesbrough.

Kamara had a memorable season with Sporting Kansas City, making 113 appearances and scoring an impressive 38 goals.

Every player has a celebration, but there's something about Kei Kamara’s celebration when he shows "Heart Shaped Hands." You can't be disappointed when Kamara scores against your team. You can, but seeing his Heart Shaped Hands in person could make it better. It's his signature.

Kei Kamara appears for Columbus Crew SC next on Saturday, May 30th when they travel to Orlando to take on Orlando City SC at the Citrus Bowl.
