The United States Women’s National Team looks to wrap up their Send-Off series with a perfect record as they take the field at 4:30p.m ET on May 30th against Korea Republic. The last times these two countries played was on June 15th and 20th in 2013. In an exciting June 20th match the game ended 5-1 with four goals coming from U.S star forward Abby Wambach.

In this match Wambach surpassed Mia Hamm’s former goal record and was named the highest goal scorer in women’s soccer history. In those two competitions the U.S outscored Korea Republic 9-1 and in seven total meetings the U.S holds an impressive 31-3 goal advantage.

While this opponent can hardly be considered a challenge for the USWNT it is the last chance for player impressions and for the U.S coaching staff to solidify the starting XI. In terms of lineups, the U.S coaching staff will most likely stick with Hope Solo in goal with Ali Krieger, Becky Sauerbrunn, Julie Johnston, and Meghan Klingenberg a consistent four back line selection since early March. It is possible we will see Lauren Holiday and Carli Lloyd in the center midfield positions with Megan Rapinoe and Christen Press out on the wings. With star forward Alex Morgan still recovering from a contusion it is probable that Sydney Leroux will earn a startup top with Wambach.

Already over 25,000 seats have been sold for the match. Next the United States will travel to Winnipeg, Canada to prepare for FIFA Women’s World Cup group play. The USWNT opens the tournament in Group D, titled the Group of Death, on June 8th against Australia followed by Sweden on June 12th and Nigeria in Vancouver on June 16th.
