Manager Jorge Sampaoli has confirmed the 23-man roster for the upcoming Copa America and, as it was widely expected among soccer experts, there weren't many surprises in the squad that will compete for the title from June 11th to July 4th.

With the team training with 26 players over the last week, the manager had to make a decision about the final three players to be cut from the squad. Consdering the defensive flexibility of Jose Rojas, the fact that Edson Puch impressed in the training session and the speedy recovery of both Felipe Gutierrez and Eduardo Vargas, the last three discarded players were Marco Medel, Juan Cornejo and Fernando Meneses.

As it has been a constant with Chile over the last few years, the team has a lot of international experience and the biggest stars of the team are getting into their prime years. Players like Claudio Bravo, Arturo Vidal and Alexis Sanchez are getting into their prime years and the three had excellent seasons at the club level. Chile's chances to make an impact in the tournament will rely heavily on their shoulders and other players like Charles Aranguiz, Eduardo Vargas, Gary Medel and Jorge Valdivia are also expected to contribute heavily.
