Kansas City, KAN. - Sporting Kansas City hosts Western Conference foes FC Dallas at 7:30 p.m. CT on Wednesday at Sporting Park in the 2015 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup Round of 16.

Sporting KC, who's coming off a 2-0 victory over the Colorado Rapids last Saturday at home stretching the club's undefeated streak at Sporting Park to nine MLS games this season, matching the longest home unbeaten start to a regular season in team history. Their six current wins at home have already matched the total set by last year’s squad.

FC Dallas comes into Wednesday's match having defeated their biggest rival the Houston Dynamo 2-0 last Friday during the MLS Heineken Rivalry Week.

Yet, Manager Oscar Pareja will be looking to fill major holes in his Starting XI as three key starters will be unavailable Wednesday due to national team call-ups as Blas Perez (Panama), Tesho Akindele (Canada) and Kyle Bekker (Canada) were all named to their respective nations Gold Cup rosters.

The Gold Cup which kicks off on July 7th at FC Dallas Stadium in Frisco, Texas looks to handicap most of the MLS clubs during the course of the three-week long tournament.

Sporting KC, who will be without Graham Zusi (USA) and Marcel De Jong (Canada) looks to remain strong on the defensive end as USMNT veteran and team captain Matt Besler was left off the Jurgen Klinsmann provisional 23-man roster and will continue to stay with the club throughout the Gold Cup. Tim Melia and his MLS-leading goals against average of 0.63 look at add another shutout to Sporting's eight shutouts in 16 competitions already this season. Also, Saturday's win marked the 250th regular season victory in club history.

FC Dallas and Sporting KC have split their regular season matchups so far with the home teams winning both matches. FC Dallas took three-points from Sporting KC with a 3-1 win on March 14th in Frisco, while Sporting KC rolled over FC Dallas 4-0 on May 29th at Sporting Park. The two teams will play once more when they finish their three-game regular season series on September 18th at Sporting Park. Currently, Sporting KC holds a one-point lead over FC Dallas in the Western Conference standings with the teams being fourth and fifth respectfully.
