The MLS All-Stars defeated English Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur 2-1 on Wednesday night at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park in Commerce City, Colo. with Orlando City SC star Kaka being named the 2015 AT&T MLS All-Star Game MVP for his goal and assist in the match.

Kaka was a perennial force throughout the first half of the contest as he conquered the midfield with his vision and finesse. In the 45 minutes he was given to play, the 33-year-old Brazilian was also a major part of his team's exciting attack as he created numerous offensive chances in the Tottenham end.

Kaka’s goal came from a penalty kick in the 20th minute after Tottenham's Nacer Chadli was called for a handball in his own end. Kaka subsequently stepped up to take the kick and sent the ball into the bottom left corner with authority, beating Tottenham goalkeeper Michel Vorm.

Just three minutes later, Kaka was involved in the scoring again. However, this time he set up New York City FC forward David Villa with a precision pass that was redirected with perfection into the net to give the MLS All-Stars a commanding two-goal lead early.

Overall, in his first MLS All-Star Game, Kaka was a class act throughout the match and its festivities. He rightly deserved the esteem that was bestowed upon him at the conclusion of the match.

Other notable performances:

David Villa – MLS All-Stars

David Villa was everywhere in the attacking third. He scored a brilliant goal from Kaka in the 23rd minute and he also combined with Seattle Sounders FC forward Clint Dempsey for some dangerous plays. He was a very exciting presence in his debut MLS All-Star Game as well.

Harry Kane – Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham forward Harry Kane put on a show for the Colorado crowd with six shot attempts, four of which were threatening shots on goal. Kane also scored a brilliant goal in the 37th minute with a right-footed shot from about 24 yards out. His thunderous strike soared into the top corner of the net. It was a world-class finish from a world-class player.

Nick Rimando – MLS All-Stars

Nick Rimando had a very impressive first half for the MLS All-Stars before switching off for Vancouver Whitecaps FC goalkeeper David Ousted. Rimando was the main reason why Kane didn’t have two or even three goals in this match. Despite conceding a goal, the 36-year-old Real Salt Lake goalkeeper had a very strong outing.
