Bradley Wright Phillips has been announced as the player of the week after his two goal, 1 assist performance in the Atlantic Cup win over DC United at Red Bull Arena. BWP was involved in every one of the Red Bull’s 3 goals in their 3-0 dismantling of their biggest rivals DC United.

Bradley Wright Phillips’ goal on Sunday was his 40th career goal with the Red Bulls. With his two goals in this game the defending golden boot winner moves into 5th place in the race for this seasons golden boot award. He is behind Kei Kamara of the Columbus Crew SC who is in first with 18 goals. This season Bradley Wright Phillips has 13 goals. He is also 4th this year in terms of both shots and shots on goal. He has 82 shots and he has 38 shots on goal. In terms of shots he is behind Sebastian Giovinco for Tornto FC who has 135 shots this season. In terms of shots on goal, BWP is behind David Villa the star for rival NYCFC who has 56 shots on goal.  His assist puts him in 8th for assists in the MLS this season. He is behind Christian Maidana who has 14 assists this year for the Phialdelphia Union. He is also behind his teammate Sascha Kljestan who is in 6th in the MLS in assists this season.   

Bradley Wright Phillips’ assist came first when he fed it to Lloyd Sam in the box and he just put it past Bill Hamid the DC United goalie. BWP’s first goal of the night was a beauty after a great pass from Mike Grella he just volleyed it past Hamid to make it a 2-0 Red Bull lead. That goal was number 2 on the Sportscenter top 10 and number 3 on the Fox Sports Live top plays. He finished off his 2nd goal after slowing down to stay onside and then tripled the Red Bulls lead beating Bill Ham
