The United States women's national team (USWNT) and Mexico will clash for first place of group A on Saturday at Toyota Stadium in Frisco, Texas. Plus the winner of this match will be one step closer to qualifying for the 2016 Rio Summer Olympic Games. After one game both nations are tied in first place with three points apiece. However, El Tri is seating in first place due to a better goal differential. The rivalry between these two nations will be spiced up a bit since the winner will secure their place in the semifinals. However, since 2012 the United States has dominated Mexico.

Mexico Destroys Puerto Rico, U.S. Destroys Costa Rica

The Mexicans defeated Puerto Rico 6-0 on Tuesday at Toyota Stadium to open the CONCACAF Women's Olympic Qualifier. On that same day the Yanks smashed Costa Rica 5-0 at Frisco as well. In six matches the USWNT went undefeated and scored 31 goals in the process. The Yanks defense has put El Tri's offense on lock down by only conceding one goal in six matches. The Stars and Stripes finished with five shutouts.

Mexico's manager Leonardo Cuellar will have an uphill battle to defeat the Americans on Saturday. Besides having a lot of luck going their way in the game, he will need his veteran striker Maribel Dominguez to continue her hot start in the tournament against the Unied States. In the first match the 37-year-old forward scored a hat-trick against the Puerto Ricans. Dominguez and the other strikers need to test American goalkeeper Hope Solo every chance they get. Wasted opportunities for El Tri will lead to a long night in Frisco.

El Tri is also going to need Nayeli Rangel to break through and help relieve the defensive pressure in the game. The midfield of Mexico has to keep the ball and play smart. If they commit errors and lose possession then the USWNT will demolish them. Mexico has to play a perfect game both offensively and defensively to achieve a victory.

Patience Is Key for U.S.

The USWNT have to be patient in the game. El Tri's defense will be stubborn and bunker in for the majority of the match. The key is to move the ball around and force the Mexican defense to open up. Captain Carli Lloyd, Lindsey Horan and Tobin Heath will need to create space in the defense. The pace of Crystal Dunn will also be crucial for the USWNT to break the back line. However, the main way for the Americans to open up the match is by scoring an early goal. Alex Morgan's early goal against Costa Rica opened up the floodgates that led to a 5-0 victory. If the U.S. can do that then they will be heading to the semifinals by the end of the night.

Prediction: Mexico 0-3 USA
