"Don't mess with SkyVolt!"
In last Sunday's second episode of Liv and Maddie, Liv finally understood the character of Tess and how to "be" a superhero for her new show Voltage. Tonight, the nation learned who her co-star and love interest would be for the program.
Immediately in "Co-Star-A-Rooney," the audience learns that the actress' TV show is looking to cast someone for the monumental role of Garrison, a photographer who knows Tess' secret of having super powers. But what's so important about who plays the part of Garrison you ask? He will be involved in very emotional and passionate scenes with Liv.
Yet, who has the capability of creating such a spark for the camera with the movie star? Holden perhaps? Yes, Holden, who is Liv's forbidden love from Season 2, was back this evening and fighting for the role of her co-star. In addition to the familiar face, finalists for the part included none other than Artie, Liv's crazy stalker from Ridgewood High, and Josh, an imported actor from Hollywood (first appearance on the show).
While Josh's audition with Liv took the Jemma's (the producer) breath away and Artie was present just to have his dream of hearing his unrealistic crush say "I love you too" fulfilled (which it was), Holden's probability of acquiring the part increased.
So as Holden took the stage for another "Lolden" moment, fans everywhere immediately remembered their last embrace on the staircase while wondering how the upcoming scene would play out.
Despite seeing the same scene for a third time (previously acted by Josh and Artie), the impression that---not Tess and Garrison---but Liv and Holden were conversing was given to viewers.
Following the impressive showing by Holden, he was asked to show hate towards Liv (for the sake of the audition). Hilariously, the last of the performers could not depict the emotion since he had no reason to despise her. Therefore, due to his inability to express animosity, Josh was given the part of Liv's co-star.
Before the conclusion of the episode, Liv complemented Holden on his acting, which he responded to with, "I wasn't acting." He later went on to say, "I'll wait for you, as long as it takes," prior to exiting.
Getting Over Diggie
Off set, Mrs. Rooney believed Maddie needed a "Diggie cleanse ceremony" to help her move past the thought of her former boyfriend; even though, her daughter felt she had the situation under control. Ultimately, upon realizing her mother gets pleasure from helping the children through emotional times, Maddie decides she would go along with the idea by faking her feelings of despair. Yet, as they place the wristbands Maddie wore the first time she met Diggie in a basket to be floated away, she becomes overwhelmed with real sadness.
Missing the Mouth
Seeing his father have daily troubles with keeping his attire clean during lunch, Parker takes on the challenge of creating an "unstainable shirt." Although his first attempt of constructing such apparel is futile, the second try works like a charm as "Dr. P" builds a "Drip and Rip" shirt, which allows he or she donning it to replace the dirty top with clean clothing (coming from underneath the dirty layer).
No Joey?
For the first time in the series' history, Joey, the brother of Liv and Maddie, failed to make an appearance in an episode. For the duration, there was only one casual mention of the awkward, level 90 necromancer.
