Gilles Simon is seeking out his first Wimbledon quarterfinal, and his second slam quarterfinal in total, but former Wimbledon finalist Tomas Berdych stands in his path. The big serving Czech will be looking to blow the Frenchman off the court with his huge groundstrokes, but it's unlikely to be that easy. Simon has some tactical weapons up his sleeve. He's a smart player, and remains incredibly resilient.

The two have played ten times before, with Simon leading the head to head 6-4. Their most recent meeting was earlier this year at the Rotterdam Open in the semifinal. Berdych cruised to victory with a straight sets win. However, their matches have often gone the distance. The two have never played against each other on grass before, nearly all of their matches have been on hard court. The grass will suit Berdych's game the most, given his powerful game. Having said that, Gilles is a great mover and covers so much of the court.

Neither player have had a smooth road to the fourth round. Berdych has played two four set matches, against Chardy and Andujar, spending a total of 11 sets and over seven hours on court. Simon survived a marathon match against countryman Gael Monfils last night, finishing under the lights on Centre Court, coming through in five sets. The Frenchman has played a total of 12 sets, and has spent seven and a half hours on court. Neither player is coming into the match fresher than the other, which makes things just that bit more even in this fourth round.

To ensure victory, Berdych will have to keep his power serve strong as usual, as it's probably his biggest weapon. So far in The Championships, the Czech has won over 78 percent of his first serve points, so that'll be key for him tomorrow. He'll also have to make sure he plays smart. The Frenchman is agile and can track down every ball fantastically, so any lazy shot selection will come back to haunt him. Simon is incredibly resilient, so even if he's a set or two down, he will try new plans and most likely find a way to get back into the match. Berdych will have to be careful not to lose his rhythm.

Ultimately, Berdych's form right now is far too good to let Simon run away with an upset. Even though the head to head swings in the Frenchman's favour, Tomas is playing probably some of his best tennis at the moment.

Prediction: Tomas Berdych in four sets.
