Keep checking in on VAVEL Tennis for more Wimbledon coverage. This is Noel Alberto signing off, and I hope you enjoyed our coverage of Victoria Azarenka vs Belinda Bencic!

After predicting Azarenka would take this in three tight sets, she went out and put on a devastating beatdown on the Swiss. Very impressed with her level of play today.

It looked like classic "Vika" today. Absolutely pummeling the ball on both wings, using her out-wide slice serve to her advantage, and absolutely crushing all the mid-court balls. This is the Azarenka we all know and love. For Bencic, this is definitely a learning experience. She failed to capitalize on multiple break chances and was extremely predictable with the serve. She'll grow from this and will have to work on that serve, especially the second serve, if she wants to be up there with the big guns.

In the end, I'm predicting this should be a three-set affair with the Azarenka taking it in three tight sets.

Earlier, we talked about nerves for Azarenka being one of her key aspects in a potential triumph. For Bencic, she'll have to use a variety of shots as well as some clean hitting with her groundstrokes. Azarenka is not the best at moving forward so the Swiss number two will have to mix in some slices and drop shots to get the the Belarusian uncomfortable. If she can do that, she'll keep the 23 seed on her toes and can use her blistering two-handed backhand to open things up. She'll need to get Azarenka in plenty of cross-court rallies as the Belarusian's forehand is the one that breaks down more often.

The Swiss number two started off her Wimbledon journey facing some adversity. She faced off against Tsvetana Pironkova of Bulgaria in her opening match. The 30th-seeded Swiss came back from a set down to take the match in three tight sets. In her second round match against Anna-Lena Friedsam, the Swiss number two once again went into a third set. She dropped the second set in this matchup 4-6 before dropping a bagel in the final set to set up a showdown with Bethanie Mattek-Sands. The American qualifier was coming off a victory over Ana Ivanovic. Despite a knee injury and the American holding three set points on her own serve, Bencic took this one in straights to set up this showdown.

Bencic, a Swiss teen sensation, has taken the WTA by storm over these last year and a half. She made the quarterfinals of the US Open last year and won her first WTA title in Birmingham just a couple of weeks ago. She's been stellar on grass this season with a finals appearance at the Topshelf Open and winning in Birmingham. Her counterpart only played one pre-Wimbledon warmup, and she lost in Birmingham early.

For Azarenka to win, she's got to keep it strong mentally. We all know about how well she hits from the back of the court and that her serve can be suspect at times, but her biggest downfall lately is keeping it together in the important moments. Her pedigree on the luscious lawns of London have peaked with back-to-back semifinals in 2011 and 2012. Lately, she's lost the plot in some of her big matches after faltering. The first known example would be in Madrid against Serena Williams. After holding three match points in the third set, she subsequently double faulted the game away and lost in a tiebreaker. Next up was at the French Open, which was also against the world number one. After getting up a set and staying on serve in the second, a controversial line call went against her. Serena would break her then take the match. It's moments like these that have made the former world number one crumble. If she can use those moments as a barrier to overcome, she can definitely take down the teen Swiss sensation.

Azarenka, who is seeded 23rd in the tournament, has had no trouble so far whatsoever at Wimbledon. She opened up her journey to the fourth round with a convincing 6-2, 6-1 victory over Annet Kontaveit of Estonia. After that, she took on former Wimbledon semifinalist in Kirsten Flipkens. The Belgian was looking to pose some kind of a threat to the Belarusian given her peaks at the All England Club. However, Azarenka dominated the whole match taking her out three and three. Her last opponent in this journey was Kristina Mladenovic. The Frenchwoman was coming off of a fantastic grass court season and French Open. At the French, she made it to the third round knocking off Eugenie Bouchard on the way. Then in Birmingham, she made a run to the semifinals knocking of top-seeded Simona Halep before getting knocked out by Karolina Pliskova. Despite this match being the 23rd seeds toughest challenge, it was still a straight sets victory for her winning 6-4, 6-4.

This is going to be the first ever meeting between Victoria Azarenka and Belinda Bencic. The Belarusian is a former world number one and two-time Grand Slam champion, winning both Down Under at the Australian OpenBencic is one of the WTA's quickest rising stars, and the Swiss native remains the youngest woman left in the Ladies draw.
