Davey Ricahrds is set for a spell on the sidelines after being the latest wrestler to join the injured list, as The Wolves member suffered a knee injury during TNA's tapings in Birmingham, England, whilst the severity of the situation is yet to be announced, the company notified fans that the initial diagnosis is a "meniscus issue."

Time Out

An MRI scan is scheduled and TNA have promised to keep people updated on the situation regarding Richards injury, but it would appear that the news isn't set to be good for fans of him or The Wolves, and it looks like he will be set to miss some in-ring time, which means Dixie Carter now has some decisions to be made.

There is never a good time for an injury, but getting taken out of action when you are on top of your game, especially when you're a champion (just ask Seth Rollins) is the worst possible situation, not only for Richards but also his partner, Eddie Edwards who will also suffer if Richards is set to be out for a long time.

TNA can't afford to have champions not defending their belts as the company just begins the process of patching itself back together, and if he is going to have to drop the title, Carter and her creative team must decide whether to give Edwards a new partner, and keep the belt on him, or simply vacate the title's and have Edwards be a singles wrestler for the foreseeable future.

It's not an ideal situation for Carter, as The Wolves have been one of the most popular teams recently, and the pair have great chemistry together and are a record five time tag team champions with each other, but that spell of dominance that they have had over the past several years could be about to come to a bitter end, quicker than both The Wolves, or the TNA fans had hoped for.
