A sensational spell of bowling from Stuart Broad helped England wrap up a series victory against South Africa on Saturday afternoon, taking a 2-0 lead in the four match series, with one game still to be played.

England seal first overseas tour win since 2012

Starting day three of the third test with five wickets left, England managed to attain a narrow lead over their opponents before some unbelievable bowling from Broad gave his side an easy total to chase, South Africa being dismissed for 83 as Broad took 6-17.

Captain Alastair Cook top scored in the final innings with 43  as England won the match by seven wickets, wrapping up a series win, their first outside of England since 2012 - when they beat India away from home.

World number one's down and out

It will all come as a shock for South Africa, who will be licking their wounds ahead of the final test, one which they must win to restore some national pride. One thing that is for certain is that they'll drop down from the number one spot in the test match world rankings, with India set to take their place.

They will try and find the positives, with Dane Piedt doing fairly well as the spinner, and Temba Bavuma becoming the first black African batsman to score a century, however their problems are too large to be overlooked.

AB de Villiers started the series playing as wicket-keeper which he wasn't happy with, before having the captaincy thrust upon him, as Hashim Amla walked away from the role. Adding to that, they've been without the services of their best bowler for much of the time, with Dale Steyn struggling with injury problems.

Meanwhile, England should leap up the world rankings after an impressive series victory which few predicted, and they'll be focusing on making it a 3-0 win at the Centurion next week, determined not to take their foot off the gas.
