Adam Voges has said that it has felt weird to get comparisons to the best batsmen that his ever graced the game, after hitting a brilliant double-hundred against New Zealand

Team mates jokes

Voges team mates joked around and called him "Sir Voges"  after he took his average above that of Bradmans, before it lowered to 97.46 when he was eventually out for 239 in the first test earlier today. Commenting on it, Voges said that he was "happy it's back under 100" due to the fact that "it was never going to stay there".

NZ behind in the game

The hosts finished the day on 178-4 in their second innings, still over 200 behind and facing a difficult task to save the match. Voges scored his second test double-century, which took his side to 562 in their first innings, however it should have stopped when he was on just seven as he was bowled by Doug Bracewell. He was given not out after the umpire deemed it a no-ball, but it was later shown that the ball was a fair delivery.

"I thought I was out," said Voges, adding that he was "very happy" to get the good luck and do so well at the second opportunity. Admitting that "it was a bad leave", the batsman said that he was very relieved to get "a little luck".

Fantastic knock

Voges lasted for 364 balls, with three sixes and 30 fours in his innings, eventually out when he was out caught and bowled by Mark Craig, which came after going 633 runs without getting dismissed.

He has now scored 1,267 runs since coming into theTtest side just last year against the West Indies. Voges is 35, but has still got a couple more years left in the international game, and has taken to it like a duck to water.
